First time grower here.
Planted them in the coco mix on Monday evening, after germinating them on a paper towel. This is the result after a few days. Photos are taken on Saturday evening.
Looks like 1 strawberry plant and the powerplant are growing a little bit but the other strawberry has noticeably smaller leaves. It was also the last one to come above ground.
After butchering them last week with having the light too low, giving them nutrients too soon and making up for it by adding unbalanced RO water my plants, they now look like this.
They will pull through but are quiet stunted.
Thanks to the people on this site I could quickly diagnose the things I did wrong and correct them right away.
Big thanks to the people who answered my questions!
Now the light is at 70cm (around 30 inches) from the plant since Tuesday. They have grown a lot since then. For the last 2 days I've started to add nutrients back into the RO water and balanced it around 5.8 to 5.9. Earlier this week I just went with bottled mineral water with a ph around 5.8.
Ive given them a little bit more light this week due to the fact the night cycle was getting a little too close to 10°C (50F).
Now I have a small heating in the room with the tent so I can try to keep the temperature around 15-16C.
Next week I will try to return to the 18/6 cycle. Outside temperatures are going up so I should be fine.
I hope all these plants pull through and become big and strong over the next couple of weeks.
I went back to the regular lighting schedule (18/6) for this week because it was warmer outside again.
I did stick to last weeks feeding schedule but only give them nutrients like 2 times a week, the other watering I just use PH'd RO with Calmag.
New leaves started growing. Some smell emerged also this week.
I moved the lamp a little closer also and they seem to like it.
Last week I started paying more attention to EC. Got a run-off that was way too high.
Gave them a nice drink but I think I overdid it at one point.
Now I think I underwatered them... Lol.
They look like they will survive and they started to show their gender.
I started LST just 2 days ago but I didn't mention it in this week for most of the time they weren't trained.
One leave on the strawberry plant got wet during watering I think and now has a few brown spot. The rest of the plant is okay tho.
But DAMN they have grown over the past week. I hope I started LST just in time before flower starts. Time will tell.
I started LST last week and opened them up a lot more. The canopy is more or less evenly spread now.
I adjusted the nutes, driving them up to the ones mentioned here but I think I overdid it. They have been on RO with 0.5-1ML/L for the last 2 days.
The leaves seem to be drooping, due to the overfeeding?
I will monitor them a bit better over the next few weeks. Hope I didn't stunt them too hard.
Also I've removed 2-3 leaves on the bottom of the plants. They've gotten wet during watering and started to discolor.
After trying to give less water and making it worse. I tried giving them water again, making it even more worse than it was, I found out is was a potassium deficiency. After giving them nutes they started to come back up again.
I started this week with some problems. The plants were looking droopy as you can see in last week's diary.
After trying the things advice to me, giving them less water, it got even worse. So it wasn't the water. I watered them like normal but with just RO, CalMag, and PH down. Things got worse day after day.
After a few normal waterings and letting them dry out quiet a bit, I went hail marry one morning after checking up and them and finding out they were bone dry. I just grabbed a container with some RO with nutes in it and poured it onto the coco. When I got home from work they were looking a lot better.
I found out it wasn't the watering but the amount of nutrients that was off. I adjusted my schedule, giving the more potassium, and voila.
I then proceeded to remove all the bad looking leaves and they were in good health again.
This week went pretty good, No setbacks what's whoever. Put the strawberrys on RO with Calmag during the weekend.
Buds are starting to grow and fatten up. They are also becoming sticky.
Week went good. No major problems. Leaves show brown spots from to much potassium I think. Buds are getting bigger and fatter.
The power Plant is the slowest ripening off aal, they still need to get a lot bigger. Also I did cut of a pretty large amount of leaves last week of the power plant and it seems to like it. Bud grew noticeably after pruning.
No problems this week. Did a semi-flush last week, adding some nutes again this week. Humidity is a little too high but can seem to get it lower. They seem to be quiet ready. Starting to flush at least 1 plant this weekend and will follow up on the other 2.
