I cannot believe how much growth this week!!! For the first time I've had to higher the light fixture. It is now almost as high as I can put it. I'm kinda regretting not FIMing her now...... I hope she does not grow much more in height!
@dandaru, I've never tried a smartpot before, just these airpots. The airpots are so much better than conventional pots it's silly. But they do dry out very fast, you have to watch that, but it means you are getting a lot of oxygen to the root zone which is a very good thing.
That was an awsome read.. Thanks man. Next grow ill focus on roots and bigger pots first. The problem with more light (led) is the burning I have to experiment a little with distance and propably get a 2nd Mars hydro led reflector. Are smartpots (fabric) okay or are airpots so much better?
@dandaru, You really should. I try and replicate what is found in nature.
1st is light. It has been worked out that sunlight 'roughly' equates to 1000w per square metre of ground. So in my tent I've got shedloads of light. Next, if you plant a seed outside in the ground how big is it's 'pot'? It's huge! So I took a tip from an old grower to use the biggest pot you can. The next step on from that is a big airpot. They are night and day better than conventional pots.
The secret is big roots.
If you have good healthy roots they can transport A LOT of nutrients to the plant which can use it because you've given her A LOT of light. Be careful taking off too many leaves. The leaves are the sunlight catchers and are integral to the equasion. No leaves=no photosynthesis.
A plant (any plant) is just a chemical reaction involving light, 'glucose C6H12O6' CO2 etc etc. The more light you give her the more nutrients she can make use of.
6CO2 + 6H2O + light energy = C6H12O6 + 6O2 *********** This is the equasion.
As you can see light and CO2 are mentioned. Something I have not played around with just yet is additional CO2, it is currently about 400ppm which is just normal air. A CO2 rich atmosphere promotes plant growth.
I've learned a lot in my couple of years, but I just try and replicate Mother Nature because she knows best π
@Dunk_Junk, head over and take a look at mine. It's Tangerine Dream, but she is huge! I'm posting an update tomorrow, I believe she is even larger now. But I bought those seeds thinking she would not get too large. And looking at most of the others, she should have been small. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong/right, but she is out of control! She previously had been growing at a very similar rate.
@BucketBrigade, It must be the Sativa genes in her! Last week was over 12" in 7 days! I will update tomorrow but thankfully she has not grown another 12" π
Tasty harvest you have ^^, enjoy it mate, good work with the plant! Nice pics too π
This auto seems to have good quality...At least its aspect is stunning
@Ageddd, Thank you!! π All things considered this Glueberry is my favourite out of this 'batch'. Nice dense, heavy, sticky flowers. Lots of trichomes. Smells good. It's a very nice sativa trip too, not an indica couchlock but you know when it hits you. This for sure will be run again by me in the future.
