We received Pink Berry as a free seed pack from QCS so we decided to add it to our grow, since we wanted some more indica dominant plants. We are very excited for this plant, and hopefully see some beautiful colours down the road
Pink Berry has sprouted just like the other two that we planted and we are very excited! This is also a photoperiod plant so we are going to let her grow nice and big before we move her to the flower tent. She is currently sitting in our veg/auto tent with a few other plants, including a couple bag seed ice wreck plants that we are giving a whirl. Also in this tent are our first Ice Wreck plant and Snow White. We have noticed some very nice healthy growth from Pink Berry this week.
Pink Berry is a plant that we are not too familiar with, but we are excited to grow. The plant has been growing well so far and looks healthy but the fan leaves are all very closely clumped together. It is certainly interesting to see her growing beside Blue Dream and Jack Herer, as all 3 plants look so different. This one however is very strange looking but I guess we'll see if she opens up more as she matures.
As she has been growing, we have noticed that she is still staying very clumped together and the nodes are spaced out nicely, but they are very very small and underdeveloped due to a lack of light reaching them. We are thinking that we are going to top this plant, to remove some fans, and to get some more light to the lower nodes, allowing them to grow and catch up, so we can have even branches when training our plant. This pheno is not the most desirable, but we have two more pink berry seeds to plant, so we will see how those go, further down the road. We wanted to start off with a variety of plants so that we could see how they each grew, compared to one another.
We currently have two autoflowering Jack Herer and the rest are photoperiods. Stay tuned for more updates!
Pink Berry! Coming along nicer than anticipated, to be quite honest. This one had plenty of foliage blocking the nodes down lower on the stem. We waited for this plant to grow a little larger before topping it, which is allowing the two new nodes to get plenty of light! The plant was a good candidate for topping since it had already grown 5 nodes. We have noticed that the node spacing on this plant is really nice and not super clumped together, like on our Blue Dream plant. We are going to let her grow some more from the topping and then start some light LST once the lower nodes have grown out some more. Slow and steady with this one, but again, since she's a photoperiod, we're going to take our time with her and make her just right. We also have even starting to give the plants a veg top dressing this week as they are old enough we figure, to handle the extra boost of nutrients.
Feb 25 - The new growth from the topping seems to be doing well. The nodes are growing at a pretty nice rate. We just gave the plants in our veg tent a feeding with veg top dressing two days ago and Pink Berry was included. We are watering again today and will be watering in the top dressing even more, so that the nutrients make their way down to the roots.
Feb 26 - The topping is going well. The new growth is getting much bigger and the nodes down the stem have been growing well too. The leaves are a very weird looking shape. They're very frilly. its interesting genetics to say the least, but we'll keep an eye on her and see how she goes
March 1 - The joints on this girl are looking super healthy and strong! really impressed with these genetics from QCS
Pink Berry has grown into such a nice looking plant. The topping and LST have worked wonders and she has recovered so well, and as strong as ever. She has about 10 main node sites now but we are hoping for a few more for sure. we did some lollipopping also so that we could eliminate the popcorn nugs like we had from our first purple punch run. Lesson learned on that one for sure
Pink Berry is looking really really good this week. This one has been my training project as i saw a lot of potential with the joints and the way the plant was growing. It has been an absolute joy growing this and training her the way i want. Very symmetrical plant which has me super happy. Thinking maybe another 2 weeks of veg and then off to the flower tent for her and blue dream. Probably going to get flipped when super lemon haze is out of our flower tent.
