2nd grow. This time I used root riot plugs in a tray with humidity dome with a heated mat (on/off every 15min) of darkness. 2 of the 3 sprouted and had roots in 3 days. The last took 2 more days, so a total of 5. Which is 5 days faster than last time when I used jiffy pellets. Transplanted plugs in clear solo cup with Happy Frog. Humidity rt around 59 %
Using the clear solo cup method is working out real nice. Can already see some roots stretching out, and it’s pretty easy to see if the happy frog is ready for water. Been about 4 days in between watering. No nutes yet, by next watering they will get all 4 T5HO lamps. Just running 2 rt now
Moved into 3 gallon pots. Bottom layer is 1/4 of sand, then super soil mixed with Happy Frog and top layer is just Happy Frog. Water PH is 6.3.
New LEDs Kingbrite 240w, about 30” and about 15% power. Will increase slowly
13days from transplant and 6 days from fimming. 9 days between watering in these 3 gallon pots with only RO water ph to 6.3
If I go more than 2 weeks in veg I will probably feed them, so far nothing yet
Ladies are doing well. Running 1 240w Kingbrite at 100% intensity about 24” from canopy. Will be turning on 2nd one in flower. I was running RO water in my humidifier, but keep getting algae even with a little hydrogen peroxide added. I’ve been using my well water and no more algae. The bro science from the net said not to, but the ladies are responding.
Going be flipping soon. Took a few leafs off the bottom that were hanging in the pot 😬. And installed some plastic coated metal stakes, to assist in flower. Fed them about 200ppm of Age Old grow, a little boost before flipping. After flip, both lights will be running at about 50%, and will be increased as I go
3 days since flip. Not seeing any white hairs yet, but I have time. I’ll be rechecking tent at nite for any light leaks, mistake I made my 1st run. Every other watering they may get a small dose of nutrients, I’ll see how they are looking. I won’t be measuring runoff ppm with the stakes in, makes it a pain in the ass. Really digging these 240w Kingbrite lights with potentiometers !
These ladies are still growing. No real sign of preflowers yet, that’ll probably happen after the stretch (bush😬) is slowed. Last 2 waterings I gave them a little bloom with molasses. They seem real happy so I’ll continue with that.
I’ve noticed that the watering cycle has really changed. In veg was about every 9 days, rt now it’s about every 4 days. But it’s about to be 3 days, the leaves were really droopy the day after this pic. I’m not sure if letting them dry out in flower is a good thing ?
They just keep growing 😎. I’m thinking they might slow the growth of stretch and start packing on the buds now that I’m seeing white hairs. Only issue I’m seeing is my small little dehumidifier is having a hard time keeping my RH down. But things still look good. Might have to put in my big basement one in if it gets out of control
Another solid week. Hopefully the stretch is over, otherwise I’ll have to get creative with my light rigging. These ladies have been fairly easy going so far. Buds look to be starting to stack and 2 of the 3 plants are looking a little sticky 🤘🏼. The smell is minimal unless I brush up against one of them
Starting week 5 of flower. Stretch is definitely over, the buds are starting to stack. Just upped my ph a little from 6.3 to 6.5. I’ll be aiming for at least 6.5 here on out. I’m thinking my 6.3 ph might of been causing the finicky cal/mag issues in one of the ladies. We’ll see
Another solid week. Buds are slowly growing. Last run these went to 75 days, so they have some time
I changed it up a little. The lighter colored plant has had a little cal mag, and with the last feeding gave her 120ppm of grow nutrients along with some bloom.
Looks like my other 2 are starting to fade. Probably a little early if it’s a 8-9 week strain. Been running a little calmag with my RO watering as of lately. Slowly fattening up. Every 2 days these lady are thirsty, If I make them wait they get real droopy. Every other watering they get molasses and bloom, about 550ppm. **Update- just found my RO holding tank PH was way off, which means so were my plain waterings 😵. Issue has been corrected with dolemite lime @ a 1/8 tsp per gallon then bubbled for a day. Really hope this doesn’t mess up my quality this late in flower
@OrganicNature420,
Just checked out your watermelon skittlez diary. Will be following! Good luck with the grow, curious how she turns
out. And sweet tent😎
