Their first week and everything seems to go smoothly. The first seed germinated within the first 24 hours, the other two followed within two days, on my previous grow (royal gorilla auto) my soil stayed too wet and attracted gnats, so I made sure to use enough perlite this time and it looks like these seedlings are growing a lot faster than the gorilla's.
Also I'm planning on fimming these plants, just to try new things and find what works for me.
The second week for these beauties, one of them couldn't get rid of the seed so after about 4/5 days after sprouting I decided to help and crack the seed open. From now on I'll start adding a supplement to the water to help them grow.
Also on this grow I want to implement fimming, so I'll do one at four nodes, one at six and one at eight nodes. I expect the one that will be fimmed at four nodes to have the thickest and most dense buds. But this is just an experiment, so we'll see.
Second week and they seem to be doing good, I'm rethinking my strategy for with ones to F.I.M. and I think, since a lot of people don't recommend fimming auto's, I'll leave one and just LST it.
Anyhow, I'll probably start feeding after next week, depends on how well they perform in the coming week.
So, third week was alright. I've been watering with neem oil and I has done it's task, all flies are gone and my grow room looks as clean as a surgical room.
I might have messed up really bad.
I only have one grow room, so I grow auto's in flower, germination and vegetation in the same room. The first weeks I places my Northern Light seedlings way to far form the light so they didn't really develop the way they should have. This week I tried to make up for it by putting them closer to the light. Without putting much thought into it I placed them way to close to the light, now they're a little burnt :(
#2 and #3 are even shooting white hairs, and they're not even 10 cm tall. #1 is under the half bottle, and this will be my strategie for the following seedlings. #1 seems to still be in veg, I hope she will stay there for a little longer.
My expectation is that #2 and #3 will either die or they will look like normal photo's that did 12/12 from seed.
Anyhow, if possible I'm still going to FiM them, but we'll see how bad my fuckup has been.
So, all these tiny ones have gone into flower for sure now. Not even 10 cm but shooting hairs.
From the looks of it #3 is not going to give me any good yield (none probably will) so when I need space in my room I'll most likely purge #3.
#1 and #2 have shown some growth, I'm really happy with that and I think they'll become one bud plants.
Anyhow, I'm not expecting much from these plants anymore. When I need more space for a more healthier plant I'll take some of these (or all of them) out.
So, it's the second week of flower I think #1 is recovering really well. Her stem is thickening and she seems to be healthy, nice green leaves and just a strong plant. #2 however seems to be having a though time recovering from the damage it took, I noticed she isn't drinking a lot. Almost all of the water I give her runs straight trough the soil and if I check on the reservoir it's still full of water. This makes me a little unsure about her future.
Because #1 is doing so well I might try to start LST on her if she allows, I'll do my best to feel the stem. I know the stems get stiffer once they hit their flower stage.
Well, as you guys can see both of these girls have really developed pretty well from the torture I put them through in the first couple weeks. #1 is the tallest by far, she's about 7 cm taller than her sister and I think she just looks healthier over all. both of them are showing some good trich production already with shiny leaves. Also you can tell they are really working on their flowers #2 has some thick flower parts already, Im looking forward to the rest of this grow.
So yeah, they're doing good. Firm leaves, nice dark leaves and bud production seems to start up. Since I'm transplanting some other plants in the same room I'm going to raise the light a bit.
So, nothing much changed the plants are still holding up. The only thing is that both of them don't really take up the water I give them so I don't expect a lot form them.
So, these ones are still stable. They still hardly drink, but seem to be doing fine. From this week I'll be watering them only once a week since they really don't seem to want any more than that.
The trichomes are really starting to turn white so I think I'll be able to harvest next week or maybe in this coming week already.
The flowers are super sticky and even the stem itself is sticky and covered with trichomes. And the smell of this one is not so strong, but its super nice. A little bit sweet and also fresh, I'm really curious as of how she tastes.
This one is strong, maybe its because my plants stayed to small. But this one will definitely make you high as a kite, for me three puffs is enough to enjoy it to the fullest. Its a nice fresh taste, will definitely grow this one again.
If you try fim and other techniques for comparison i will look forward to see the results as i am curious to see final results for the same genetics. happy grow !
@Hermano, I do like northern lights,,,just put one in my scrog tent to 12/12 on the 15th,,hope she is as strong as yours,,I've had good luck with this strain,,I dont think like some do,,if you are happy with the product and grow,,the size or amount isnt what matters,,quality beats quantity any day in my humble opinion..
@spyder, Dude, as you see I only had a small harvest but I've never had a strain this potent. Maybe its because they stayed so little, but for me three puffs of a pure joint will get me sky high. Normally I smoke a full pure joint and I'm still able to function, but this shit is form the gods hahaha
