Cape Grows OG Kush

We primarily ran just clean dechlorinated water this whole week and only added the nutrients on day 7. What i did notice is the ph level going up during the week. We added a little bit of ph down to the bucket just to stabilise the ph at 6.0.

Ph fluctuates at 0.5/48h I readjust every 48h from 6.2 to 5.7. I added 5l water at 1.3 EC. Currently at 1.0 EC in bucket. Plants currently @14days since germination. Entering week 3.

We experienced some good growth this week. We will start to introduce a small amount of bloom nutrients. Ph fluctuations have stabilised. I do however correct it to between 5.7 and 5.9 PH every other day. Plant is 21 days old on these photos (end of week 3)

We experienced very stable ph levels this week. I think this is partly due to the fact that i have been topping up the water with 4l of new solution. This gives the plants more time to adapt to the solution and thus cause fewer fluctuations. (Take note this is just an observation) We will be installing an extra light at the end of this week (marshydro ts2000w) to go with the marshydro FC 3000. The plant is currently 30 days old. There are 3 other OG kush plants in the tent, hence the need for extra light.

We saw some big fluctuations in the ph this week from 6 down to almost 5 within 72h. This indicates that the plant is moving closer to flowering and thus I have increased to amount of bloom nutes. I am trying to keep the stretch a bit less with this grow.

We saw the plant slowly going in to the flowering phase. The ph levels tend to drop quite a bit daily with a fluctuation of about 0.2 daily. Be sure to have some ph up at hand. I like to start the ph level at 6.0 and then move through the spectrum to around 5.6 -5.5. (48h plus minus). I will start to provide less grow nutrients and more bloom nutrients from this week on. Be careful for too much nitrogen during flower.

This week was about pushing in to full flower. I am more than happy with the size, reaching a meter in length and in width. The side shoots caught up beautifully with the main cola and we have a lot of bud sites with great spacing.

The pistils stretched and formed very nicely. Plant stretched fully to 112cm. We are cutting all grow nutrients from here on in with sufficient nitrogen in the micros.

We are nearing the end of this grow and so far everything is taking shape very nicely. I did a quick 2 day flush with some florakleen from GHE and then got back to the bloom nutrients. I did this just to clean the roots a little and get rid of any unwanted salt build up. This will hopefully set us up for a strong finish. Really impressed with the marshydro fc3000 thus far. For next week i will push the EC levels quite a bit, remove any unwanted popcorn nugs and try set it up for a strong finish.

This week I did a final bit of defoliation just to channel the energy to the buds. I upped the EC to 2.1. I got a well priced pkm boost powder from my local hydro shop, wich I added to get the EC levels a bit higher. I will start flushing at the end of this week with a flushing solution. I have also been making use of a dehumidifier to reach optimal RH.

This week I moved the plant in to 48h of darkness whilst completing the flush. I did 3 days of florakleen and then 3 days of ph neutral dechlorinated water.

This grow took me around 12 weeks to complete. I harvested at about 80 days and got some beautiful dense nugs. I have found growing autos in DWC allows to get amazing results. During this grow I started feeding bloom nutrients at a much earlier stage to try and make them available as soon as the plant can use them. I also found this didn’t effect my stretch much and allowed for a whole lot of bud sites. Take note that most micro nutrient lines contain a lot of nitrogen and when the autos start making bud sites you can cut the grow nutrients much earlier. I had pretty good results with micro and bloom during the early flower stage. I also found that by gradually removing certain growth and not adding too much stress, the strain reacts pretty well. If you do decide to do a heavier defoliation, rather do it after the plant has completed its stretch. This will help not shock and stunt growth during vegetative stage. I would personally recommend to try and scrog this strain of grown in dwc for even larger yields as I removed quite a lor of growth during my grow. I will definitely make use of this for my next grow. At the middle of the flowering stage I installed a dehumidifier and tried to keep it between 45-55% RH. My temperatures were consistently between 20-27 degrees as I ran a 24h light cycle. I also made use of a mycelium bag for some added Co2 which I found worked well. I am overly satisfied with the yield and density of these flower and would recommend Fastbuds genetics to anyone looking to grow their own. High quality and very high yielding plant.
