Week 1 Philosophers Seeds Heavens Fruit. Thanks to my great mate for the seeds, and the chance to grow this new strain. 4 from 4 germination, and each is of similar size and quality. This speaks for some good genetics. This will be a late season grow, which I really like as they are a lot quicker. Hoping to do this one justice, and also to get some of those lovely colours that come out when finishing in the cooler temps this time. So, here we go again! 🍻

Week 2. Seems they have made it through well enough, just got a bit leggy so I made some supports to keep them safe in the breeze. I will keep the best one or two for myself, and see if a mate wants to grow the others out. There is one which is clearly the best, so he will be staying here for sure. A good week of warm weather, but some real serious humidity this week. The most of the season for sure, it felt like the tropics! These seemed to love it, as long as kept hydrated. Will need to disturb them and repot soon so hoping they get through all that ok 🍻

Week 3 The 4 Heavens Fruit were transplanted this week, with my intention to keep the best 2 in bigger pots, then perhaps give the smaller ones to a friend to grow out. For the most part, it went well, but one of the ones I thought was a good one, seems a bit sad since. It’s possible it’s a bit overwatered, as I gave them a good drink when transplanting, then it unexpectedly rained heavily the other night too. No real problems though. One of them is clearly the best and strongest, and that one is in great shape. Leaving them outside to do their thing now, so at this time of year, it’s pretty much 12 12 . Ideal for a stealth late season grow, and a quick harvest. Or at least that’s the plan anyway 🍻

Week 4. Heavens fruit is doing well enough, with steady growth this week. Both plants are looking really healthy. This week there will be heaps of rain so they are inside under the lights for a while. Time to decide whether to top, lst, or just leave. Will decide in a few days depending on weather. This has been one of the wettest summers I can remember. I’m ready for some of our seasonal awesome autumn weather to kick in anytime now. Thanks for visiting👍

Week 5 for Heavens Fruit. Rain rain and more rain. This week we have had a serious weather event. I’m lucky enough not to have flooding, but it has been incredible amounts of rain. Because of this the plants are back inside. So not many good photos this week. We are supposed to get some nicer weather from tomorrow. It looks like I might have 2 different types. Both topped and recovering well. The season is winding up so I’m sure flowering is not far away 🍻

Week 6 for Heavens fruit. There’s an extra 2 days on this one because I’m late. I’ve been busy at work and missed a bit of time. They are going well, and just starting to flower. Perfect timing for the size I’m looking for. A nice quick grow is ideal this late in the season. I cut a few fans cos they were blocking lower branches, in hindsight I probably should have tucked em back for a while instead. Either way I don’t think it will matter. They are growing well. I have no idea what to expect so just happy to watch it all unfold 🍻

Week 7 for Heavens Fruit. Another full week of rain, it’s getting monotonous. I’ve had to move them under the soffit at the back of the house so not to get too hammered by rain. Here they only get half a day of sun normally, but hardly any this week due to terrible weather. These look really nice at the moment. They have relished the going. First buds are popping up, which is nice timing for the size I wanted these ones, and to finish in may.

Week 8 for Heavens fruit. They are doing nicely now, with another 10cm growth this week. I think they are nearly full size now. Nice buds forming, and they are taking a nice shape. One is taller than the other, and a bit different. It has longer spaces between the buds too. A bit of nice smell already too! I have a good feeling that this one might be a real beauty. Here’s hoping I can jag a few more nice weeks of weather before the cold 🍻

Week 9 Heaven’s Fruit. This week was a great week of weather. A bit cooler, but nice clear skies. The buds are really filling out nicely now, especially on the smaller one. They definitely have an orange citrus smell going on. I wonder if this will come out in the smoke. Only 4cm growth this week so I think they have reached maximum size. Going really well so far.

Week 10. Heaven’s Fruit is tracking nicely. Both plants are starting to put on weight now. The shorter one seems to be a bit ahead of the other one. Getting a few yellow leaves for some reason, and some spider mite persisting which is a bit of a hassle. Some of my other plants and trees in the garden are also getting hit with mites and miners, I think it’s from the recent heavy rains. The best thing is easily the smell. Beautiful citrus, especially orange and mandarin like. The taller one has the most pungent smell for sure. Getting a bit cooler now so hoping to get them through in coming weeks and finish up for the season 🍻

Week 11 Heaven’s Fruit is coming along perfectly. Still a few issues with spider mite. Also some yellowing of the fan leaves. I think they drained a lot of the nutrients from the soil as they bulked up quick, and I have been a bit light handed with feed. The last few days I ramped up the feed when the weather cleared, and the yellow appears to be fading back. So really happy to date with the way these are progressing, and the tangerine smell is something special🍻

Week 12 Heavens Fruit. It’s getting to the pointy end of this grow now, with some of the challenges of a late season grow catching up with me. I have had mostly good weather through late flower with these, but got a bit of rain this week. With the rain, I have found a bit of rot. After a thorough inspection I found some on each plant and carefully cut it out. So i am on high alert now. Although they smell unreal, they are a bit early to finish up yet, and I really want the full flavour of this one in the end. I think it’s the way the buds form that kind of traps the moisture. As well as being loaded with resin, not allowing any moisture to dry out. I am hoping for at least two more weeks, but too much more of this rot and I may need to cut my losses, literally!! 🍻

Week 13 Heaven’s Fruit. After finding a few more bits of rot, I decided to chop the Heaven’s Fruit tonight. I am getting superb dry weather at the moment, but I’m still getting small bits of rot where some earlier rain may have settled down. So next report is the final harvest, then that’s it for the year! It’s always nice to get them to harvest, but I will miss not having them in the yard for a few months. I hope it’s good shit cos it needs to get me through to next seasons first grow! 🍻

Heavens fruit is done, and so am I for this year. It wasn’t the ideal strain to finish late in the season, as it had to endure more rain than we usually get, then a bit of frost before harvest. This affected the overall quality for sure. The smell during the grow was lush tangerine. But plant 2 didn’t really have the same features. Plant 1 gave me a jar of nice buds that really taste and smell unique so I’m stoked about that. Thanks to all who followed and helped. I will keep an eye on the diaries but forgive me if I miss them for a while. Catch you all when the next season rolls around 🍻
