HeyHo Growmunity,
welcome in week 18 of DC's Super Auto Deepforest!
Well, where to begin...
Overall it was a good week for the DF, despite of many rainy days.
She's still stretching and reached the magic 200 the day before yesterday, today I measured 206cm 🤪👈
I defoliated her yesterday morning, removing the lowest shoots and pincing off thousands of suckers. She produced a lot of them and I'll keep removing them further on.
But she's a huuuuge beauty🤣but also a bit scray though😂..
I have to keep the tent closed during the day b'cause she nearly took half of the tent yet and nearly every neighbour would notice what ima raising in my lil' garden😬😬
One last word to the stinging nettles.
As you see on one of the pics that there a millions of aphids in the tent. Funny thing, they r exclusively on the stinging nettles, not a single one on the DF👌.
Today I'd like to write about a plant which is relatively new to me as a companion but prooved its effectivity over the last weeks of DF's grow.
The tobacco plant!
Firstly, tobacco acts as a kind of vacuum cleaner, because it is covered by a layer of trichomes and glands, almost like cannabis itself, with the difference that marijuana leaves are usually smaller than those on a tobacco plant.
That vacuum effect acts against threats. If you pick up a plant and take a look at its different parts up close, you will notice that it is covered with small insects (such as whiteflies etc. see picture!).
Tobacco plants' large leaves are a kind of a trap that lures prey with their nicotine, a substance that acts as a poison against parasites, ultimately killing them. Thus, placing pots of tobacco plants next to the crop we care about the most can make a big difference.
Here's another great tip which I just can recommend:
Take the greenest tobacco leaves, put them in a blender, and add a little water to create a homemade and completely organic insecticide that can be sprayed on marijuana plants without doing any damage to them. These are just some of the tips that both experienced and novice growers should take note of.
I'm very happy with this companion and it will have a steady place in my future outdoor runs.
That's all from this weeks Backyardweedporn, have a good one and take care!

Hmm… this is the second example I see of long term autos that don’t go into bloom, atm I doubt they exist at all.
If possible you could force bloom her by covering the greenhouse with a black cover 12-12. It’s quite demanding though.
Otherwise what @Organic_Larf is saying.
Or take some clones.
Good luck! 🍀
@Doctors_Choice,
I’m not implying that you are lying, I’m simply trying to learn. I was expecting you to mention the low temperature, since I have experienced myself an auto plant going regular because of the weather.
I would honestly like to see a successful diary of a long time auto that blooms when it’s supposed to. Since I live in the northern parts, Denmark to be specific, such an auto type of plant would be wonderful to grow. The weather here is very unpredictable though, so the genes have to be strong.
@Green_Dream, I'm in touch with @@OimRausch from the beginning and never seen to lie or keep back something. From the start of week 5 or 6, the night t was around 4-5°C, 2 of his other plants died already but DF was alive.
We're here for the honest results, no need to keep back and show only the fat buds
This one looks amazing and interest me a lot. Can wait to see your review of her. What do you think about doctors choice? I never tried them but would want to on september
@Doctors_Choice, I would be very grateful if you send me some samples. Of course I would try to grow them with a lot of love 😍
Wasn't expecting this 😅 thx doc!
@Organic_LarF,
🤔already thought about having a fan in the tent. But RH is @ 99% the whole day and the fan is just IP42.. ima afraid of producing a short circuit..🤔
🙌 Bom cultivo amigo 👌🌲
Hi,
Maybe try to focus on a certain quantity of branches, do some LST on those and a good topping for the rest of the branches and even take some out.
Like she is now, she will maybe be to compact 2 stay budrot free.
🙏🌿🌿🌿🙏
@Samokrutovvv, that what we tried to do is to receive the autoflower with the characteristics of feminized non-autoflower and when we got the outdoor monster we understood - it will be like a real challenge
