Looking at the parents and their organoleptic profiles, it turned out that each plant seemed to lean toward one of the parents aroma-wise.
#3 was the only plant that combined both dessert notes and blueberry. So yes, that kind of pheno can definitely be found.
#4 was more on the Gorilla side: pine, citrus, herbs.
#1 and #2 were more cookie-leaning. In the jar they have a creamy, milky aroma with herbal notes ā you could call it sweet cookies.
As for color, I didnāt manage to find a fully black pheno. There were attempts, sure, but nothing went completely black from top to bottom. Maybe it needed more than 10 weeks for that, but personally Iām not ready to push it that far. These days, 8ā9 weeks is not just a vague breeder estimate ā itās the actual target window for me.
Iām also not a fan of heavy amber. I still want to feel the THC, not CBN, and I want the terpene profile at its peak. The smell on #3 changed after week 8 of flower, and in my opinion not for the better. Thatās just what happened. I didnāt notice the same thing on #1, #2, or #4 ā their smell just kept getting stronger.
Overall, these were pretty loud plants. I had to replace the carbon filter near the end of the grow.
The effects are slightly different between phenos as well, but all three share one major trait: almost no paranoia. And Iām definitely the kind of person who can get stuck in his head, so a lot of strains donāt really work for me because of that. Trich Beast was fairly good in that regard, but Mamba still beats it on this point.
So far Iāve only had the chance to test each one once. The buds are still curing, so itās too early to give a proper flavor report. In general, the smell does carry over into the taste, but with a clear pine/resin note. Iāll write a more detailed update later.
In terms of duration, the main effect lasts solidly for around two hours, then slowly fades out over the next couple of hours. No weed hangover, and the comedown is very smooth. The only side effects were dry mouth and, obviously, dry eyes.
Maybe itās just me, but the effect feels kind of reversed. First comes a relaxing, almost stoney phase for about half an hour, and then it starts picking up. There is creativity, there is focus, and if the mood is already good, there can be euphoria as well. That euphoria can be pushed a bit with a couple of good beers ā the synergy works perfectly for me.
Now Iāll try to rate it on a 5-point scale.
Bud appearance: you can judge from the photos and videos yourselves, but Iād give it around 3.8. There is plenty of frost, but Iāve seen frostier plants. For example, Iād probably give Trich Beast around 4.2 on the same scale. #4 had rock-hard buds all the way down, except for the thinnest lower branches. #3 tried too, but without a healthy root system late in flower itās hard to build proper lowers, so the bottom ended up mostly popcorn. I think #1 and #2 would have been closer to #4 if they had been grown properly.
Aroma: if you find that exact pheno with the blueberry and pastry mix, itās a bomb ā 5/5. Search for it, find it, and hide it again. The other phenos are not something Iād call extremely unique, but the smell is strong, so Iād give them 3.5.
Flavor: too early to judge properly, but for now Iād say 4.
Effect: 4.5. The lack of paranoia is a huge plus. It has a lot of use cases: watching something, gaming, reading, talking, doing creative stuff, or working on a hobby. Not giving it a 5 only because there should always be some room to grow.
