Got these seeds a while ago as a gift from a fellow growmie :-)
Soaked the seeds for a few minutes in hydrogen peroxide to soften the shells. Then into distilled water over night. Tomorrow they will go in the paper towels to get the tap root going. Then into pots to get started in time for a top, mainline, hardening off and transplant on May 10th.
Let's see how many seeds crack open... Stay tuned!
Wow all five are good to go.
All 5 seeds germinated nicely. The grow room is up and running and the lights and temperature are in spec, but the humidity is low. I ran out of wicks for my humidifier and I put an order in... still waiting for them to be delivered. Not sure what I'm gonna do with all these plants LOL
These ladies are growing nicely. I have transplanted one into a bigger pot and I'm planning to start nutrients this week. I'm watching to see how she branches out. I'll be topping and cloning this week or next. Stay tuned.
These plants are growing nicely, in spite of some leaf damage in the early nodes. Took longer than I thought to sort out the RH in the room. Also, I'm not sure if the soil is a good choice for these. I'm not too worried though because they are going outside in a few short weeks... and that's when things get easy :-)
I topped the plants this week and cloned the growth tips. It's always fun to see which clones will take and which will not. My success rate is not high... but I don't put much energy into it. I already have more plants than I can handle.
I'll start nutrients next week.
The plants are topped and mainlined now. There are just a few weeks left before they go outdoors! So exciting. It can't be too soon because the roots are already looking for more space. Lots of sativa in this one... you can already tell.
The moment we have all been waiting for... the summer outdoor flowering photos... enjoy :)
Started the season off with a difficult start... I put them outdoors while the says were still too short. The plants all started to follower, but then as the solstice approached they all converted back into veg and grew like crazy. I was sure my entire grow was fukd...
Now we are well into August which is solid flowering for Ontario growers in zone 5.
You can see the sativa genetics in this tall lady! She's crazy huge... We have mildew in the garden this summer, but the Laughing Buddha seems immune. I've cleaned out her nether regions to keep good airflow... Her buds are slowly starting to mature. She's in the middle of the pack... no more and no less than the others.
This plant is a crazy monstrosity. She's insanely tall with crazy three foot long apex colas LOL... I can't even put this into words.
You can see the sativa genetics in this lady. I'm pretty stoked about this variety :-)
This lady is so tall and her colas are getting too heavy. We had a bit of rain and wind mid-week and she could hardly stay up... one cola actually broke off! I'm trying to get another two weeks out of her. Fingers are crossed. It's a blustery day today and I'm a bit nervous! She's not ripe yet... I don't want a 'preemie' on my hands.
She bounced back nicely after bending over with the weigh of rain. There is a good amount of amber in the trichomes... but I but buds are still fattening up... lets give her a week or two more.
Now they are getting fat! And the trichomes are showing more and more amber... We had to trim one branch after it fell off (two weeks ago) and its dry now... we put it in the volcano and it was great. Im pretty excited for the cure... Im glad we are going to have a lot. Im expecting this to be a fan favourite. Next entry will likely be the harvest entry.
Not much of an update this week... went camping in the backwoods of Temagemi.... it was amazing :) I did a video update when I got back... it'll have to do.
