Hello guys and gals,
This time around I’m going for 10 new Sweet Seeds Runtz xl autos and making 2 comparison diaries based on the soil mix.
4 will go in coco/perlite(70/30)
4 in soil/coco/perlite(50/40/10)
Both hand watered.
I will start them all in 2L pots in a mix of biobizz light mix soil/coco coir/perlite(50/40/10) amended with 1,5g/l Green House Feeding BioGrow.
They will be transplanted in 10L pots at the end of week 3.
I will be amending the growing medium with Green House Feeding dry organic nutrients and hopefully only water with plain water(either tap or RO water - still considering this one). More on that later on.
For now crossing fingers they will all germinate 🤞🍀
UPDATE:
After 24h in the glass with water some of them started popping, only few signs are visible so far.
After 48h(24h in the paper tower) they are all out and looking exquisite.
I give them one more day so they get a nice long porous tail before going into the soil.
After 72h they look ready to be dropped in the soil.
Enjoy!
Hi all,
The first week went pretty good.
As you might have seen all seeds(10) germinated, there were 2 of them though that didn’t make it after they came down in the soil.
So I decided to only make 2 comparison diaries, 1 with 3 girls in coco/perlite(70/30) mix and the other one with 5 girls in soil/coco/perlite(50/40/10) mix. I also started 3 more seeds - blue criticals - to make sure the tent gets filled up.
In the first 2-3 days I experienced some of the babies got burned tips, a sign that the soil is a bit too hot for them. I actually got a warning that this might happen, but I still wanted to try it(amending the soil). Lesson learned, next time I do the soil/coco mix which I know always works, 50/50 mix with biobizz all-mix soil.
The humidity is lower then I would like it to be, but since I have ladies on their last week of flowering in the same tent I can’t do anything about it. This way I save 3 weeks with 20h light/day.
Hope you’re good and enjoying the ride! 🍀
Hello everyone,
This week has been nice and easy. I watered only once with RO water and 3g/l Green house BioEnhancer.
To be honest I would have liked the ladies to look a bit more healthy - larger leaves, thicker stems. Unless this strain is actually looking like this, but I suspect that my humility(45-50%) is too low for this stage, and that I might have overwatered them, even though I only did it once in a week.
Otherwise they’re looking pretty good, they’re already growing the third set of leaves, so fast! 😃
I’m looking forward to see them in a week from now 🍀
Happy growing!
What a week!
I was getting quite concerned at the beginning of this week, the girls were looking pathetic, so I decided to do something about it.
I mixed some BioBizz nuts(see above how much) with RO water and gave each girl 200ml. It did wonders, so I kept doing it every 2nd day. Even the smallest ones look quite good now.
They look ready to be transplanted in the final 10l pots. It will happen in Day 23. I think the strongest ones will get the coco.
They slowly started to show their sex, and I’m happy they do it slowly, it’s a sign they will take their time to grow large 🤞
Oh, right, I felt there was something I was forgetting. I got fed up of those gnat flies. I once read about one grower covering the soil with iron wool to keep the flies away, so I decided to try it out, plus I decided to cover the bottom of the pots with aluminum foil, since I noticed they gather there as well.
I like to look of the wool tbh.
Hi everyone,
A lot has been happening this week.
I transplanted the girls into their final 10l pots. They got an extra one teaspoon of Dolomite mixed in the soil to make sure they don’t run out of CalMag since I’m using RO Water.
I decided to have 4 girls in coco/soil mix and 4 in coco/perlite mix. I’m exited to see the difference! I can already see a bit faster growth for the ones in coco/perlite. I set up a camera to make a time lapse for next week 😉
I started LST on the main stem this week. It usually takes 3 times of adjusting the wire in order to get an even canopy, I do it with ca. 1-2 days in between them.
I noticed a few burns on some of the lower leaves after the transplant. I don’t believe it’s something to worry about, as they grow larger they will eat more and more of the nuts and they will pretty fast stabilize.
I feel quite optimistic about this grow!
Enjoy! 🍀
Such a beautiful week!
They went straight into flowering and at the same time the growth stage is still visible. Good potential for large plants. I imagine they will finish in ca. 4-5 weeks.
It's great to see them explode!
I feed/water them every ca. 2nd day.
The look more healthy then their sisters that are only in coco.
Thanks for stopping by!
Any suggestions or questions are very welcomed! ; )
It has been a pretty good week for the girls. They are well into flower now.
Unfortunately I noticed some brown spots starting to show up. I suspect the soil got a bit hot, so even though this is amended soil mix I watered them with a bit of run off at the end of this week to get some of those excess nuts out.
They are starting to smell, and it’s quite a floral aroma, something I haven’t tried before.
I imagine they will take another 3 weeks before the finish line... maybe even 4.
It’s really nice so see how even they look, the same pheno 8 out of 8.
Hope you’re enjoying the ride! 🍀
Quite a good week here, they look like they will keep going for at least another two weeks, I’m also hoping so!
They look better than their sisters in coco, they are larger and healthier.
I’ve been watering them pretty much every day this week and I hope I can keep doing that for the rest of the grow.
The buds seem to be rather small and compact, similar to the leaves and the whole structure of the plants.
They are definitely starting to fade now.
Week 8 is gone and according to SweetSeeds guys the girls should be be done by now.
It looks like there’s something to harvest, but the buds look way to small to me, so they get one more week. Most pistils are still fresh and pointing up, another sign that they can go a bit longer.
Otherwise they look quite good, frosty and with a very pungent smell, I expect high THC contents.
I’m glad I gave them one more week, so they can fully develop the buds.
They look quite small in my opinion, I hope I get at least 25g/plant in average. I don’t really think there will be more. I don’t blame the genetics though. The girls had a bit of a rough start and quite a lot of pests on them.
Many leaves have been drying and falling off this week. It’s quite normal for last week, but they did it in a burning fashion , starting from the tips and rolling inwards. So I thing I have to do more experimental work with my new amendments.
Super strong weed. I prefer it at night cuz it gets me quite stoned.
Small, compact, heavy, frosty buds.
Very nice flavor! sweet, fruity, tropical. Some 2 out of 8 ladies went into the sour side as well.
It's been quite a learning experience!
This definitely went better then the 100% coco girls.
The plants performed quite good considering that I most probably amended the soil/coco mix with the wrong amount of nuts. There were also a variety of bugs present, gnat flies, trips, and something else that I don't even know what it was.
The yield per plant is - 37, 40, 43, 45. To be honest I'm impressed. I'm convinced they can go over 50g/plant with the proper care.
They all finished after 9 weeks, the last 2 at week 10. So definitely expect them to go beyond the 8 weeks that Sweet Seeds proclaim. I find this a good thing, 8 weeks is to quick for a plant to grow truly big.
I have 4 seeds left and I'm looking forward to see how the 2nd grow will go ;)
Thanks for following!
Thank you very much for trusting our strains, and sharing your experience.
And thank you very much again for the score of 9 out of 10!! 👏😍❤️
We hope you enjoy the harvest 👌
Sweet smokes!

Hey👊, Great start👍.
I like your gravity idea😏, all taps grow down instead in circles and different directions.
I will try that next time for sure.
Luck!!
@Green_Dream, I had a gorilla fem that only went a couple weeks into flower over the winter and died due to very very low humidity and it was still some sticky bud! Definitely going to have to give it another go lol
@L_Tetragrammaton,
Thanks, I’ll keep in mind.
I still have some more Runtz left and also I got the Gorilla Girl auto and Bruce Banner auto from SweetSeeds for the next runs. I also got some Lemon Kix auto on discount from Dutch Passion, they look very promising!
@Green_Dream, the cheese from FastBuds is phenomenal in my opinion. The dark devil from sweet seeds is a little finicky but one of my absolute favorites. Everyone always if I have any of it (smoke sesh/ not for sale lol) it’s a really pretty connoisseur day smoke (my preference of course)
That’s interesting that they are doing better than the ones in straight coco. Does it vary by strain in your experience or is the coco usually better? I usually mix in a little strained coco with my ProMix and really like the mix avoiding the inevitable cal-mag deficiency.
@L_Tetragrammaton,
The girls get bigger faster in coco since it’s basically hydroponics and the roots get more oxygen.
Ideally I would have them watered 6 times a day with a drip system.
Unfortunately I didn’t have time to set up the system this time.
And I did the mistake of amending the coco 3 weeks before transplanting the 3 week old girls. My intention was to give the bacteria and all other good guys time to start growing in the coco. But I imagine that in these 3 weeks the nutrients started decomposing to much, making the coco too hot.
It’s just a theory of mine.
The 3 Blue Criticals I have look so much better and larger. They got the coco amended right before transplant, and they only got the BioGrow powder then supplementing with BioBloom and Calmag from biobizz.
I’ll will definitely going with this method in the future. The only inconvenience is that I have to hand water pretty much every day, as liquid nuts clog the lines of the drip system.
They are about ready to harvest, what size pots are they I am getting a weird reading when I see the size in your diary, the XL versions of their strains normally produce very well I average about 65 Grams per Plant of dry buds from Sweet Seeds, I bet your Rundz smokes well!
Good luck with your harvest!
@MrJones,
Thanks!
They are in 10l pots.
As I said, I don’t blame it on the strain. It has been the first time I used these amendments from Green house feed and I still need to find the right amounts, which is a bit trick I find when working with autos, since the veg and the blooming phase blend in.
On top of that there were the bugs as well.
So... it is what it is.
Plants look like top quialty genetics flowering in sync seems like you have a steady pheno type showing, gonna keep watching these girls .... I've 20 plants all sweet seeds through my own dairys
