All good with this one, she cracked the nut on day 3 and looks like a healthy seedling. I'm okay with both males and females and I also popped two more. Let's see who is who later. I'm looking for the cherry pheno, though lemon kush would be okay too
That's some old coco with dead roots, so I'm using ph-ed water with some micronutrients and enzymes to break them. She looks fine but I feel like she's not in the best condition, I'm not yet okay with this smaller box
Not a lot of growth of the upper part of the plant, we've grown a couple of new leaves :-D I guess the root zone is developing actively (or I hope). That's another reason I miss hydroponics, checking the root zone used to be my habit in the days of DWC
Actually feeding the plant gives results ahah. Topped in a weird manner again, probably more like an FIM happened, I'm plucking the tiniest part of the top usually.
Pruned lower branches, took 2 clones. She's a girl, so the quest is over. I popped 3 seeds and 1 of them turned out male which is also in the flowering room now growing his bananas.
Last veg week, stigmas are here, buds should start forming next week. Did some cleanup in the tent killing as many whiteflies as possible, placed a new portion of yellow sticky traps. Missed a shot at 4/20 :-P
She's growing pretty steadily, and already is smelly. Pine/lemon notes for now. As usual training went "wrong", some branches are much bigger than the rest, so I'm breaking the longest ones to make it more even. Yeh-yeh, "don't train in flower"
Week events: fighting whiteflies with bare hands, moving around in the box, and breaking the longest branches to make the canopy more even. She already smells cherry, the smell is actually pretty insane, first piney aromas appeared and now it turns into sweet-piney that transforms into a strong sweet cherry smell, and probably some hazy notes appear, though I'm not a decent cannasieur yet IMHO.
Spread branches a bit to allow light go deeper, and still fighting some whiteflies that still there, hoping to eliminate them soonish, another grow box inspection planned for the weekends. All good.
She's super frosty, I even recorded a jingle after looking at about how frosty she is. 60s pop music style. No events this week. There are still few whiteflies here and there and I'm bashing them every time I spot them. Also scrubbing the eggs off leaves all the time, sometimes damaging the tissue.
Hard to keep me from cutting and tasting a piece of her at this stage, I'm often finding myself checking when she actually started flowering and counting days like "is she really started flowering 1.5 weeks into 12/12? Eh? Let's check some pictures to be sure"
Fucking patience. I don't think I'll go beyond 50 days of flowering as the package says
Growing was pretty easy, she's resilient and strong. Lower buds are about the same size as the tops (after training), with almost no annoying fluffiness. She really is cherry, though it comes through pine. But very cherry still :-)
The effects are not-so-sativa on me, but maybe I waited for too long with this "flowering is when the flowers start forming".
I watched EC and PH better this time and this one is one of the smoothest runs I had. Slowly learning to slack less...
Also got a few seeds back since I took the male out of the box right when the stigmas were there already
@iHateSativa, thanks, pal! Funny but I kinda remembered your nickname lately because saw your diaries some time ago and had a couple of too-much-sativa-high harvests and being inflated all the time and not going to sleep until 2 am is not something I enjoy a lot 😄
Personally I would get a cal mag additive, I normally find 0.5ml per litre for hard water or 1ml per L for soft water works well, even with coco specific nutes I still find the need to add cal mag brother.
Your EC and PH are spot on although the humidity I would like in the 60% + range.
Saying that I am battling low humidity and mines sitting lower than yours lol
@bobtheblob, maybe a touch of a nitrogen and cal mag deficiency. I see the lower leaves are yellowing. I would remove the bcuzz and use cal mag at 0.5ml per L. Most cal mag additives have a bit of nitrogen in too so I think it will help brother👍
@Esoteric_growing, thanks a lot for the cal mag suggestion! I was barely feeding her and all the nutes she was getting was probably from enzymes dissolving old roots, but now I see when people go for cal mag 😀 I mean I see on the leaves that something is off, and you say it is somewhat as a calmag deficiency? Humidity is a bitch, no plans to fight it in a smaller tent though. I actually was thinking of removing the smaller tent and simply keeping them on veg in an open space in a living room. It's fucking 2021 and I don't have cop friends (should I get some? :-D)
