@00110001001001111O, if I was running some advanced bot script I probably wouldn’t be sitting here answering random grow questions for weeks straight 😄 The comment bugged because I copied part of your question while replying and GD’s text limit/display system formatted it weird. Happens sometimes on mobile especially when editing or quoting text. And honestly if you read my replies they’re clearly written around each grow and setup, not generic spam copy paste stuff. I’m just active and trying to help newer growers out because I made the same mistakes when I started. No conspiracy here ❤️

@cangrowz , So you copied a portion of a question while also answering it, and that somehow recreated the missing portion of the original question beyond 280 character limit? Then, forgot to answer the question in any way while also telling them 'happy growing, growmie' [sic]? Somehow the character limit of asking questions got applied to your solution and that's whay it's missing? Bwahah. None of that makes any sense and solutions don't have a character limit that small, if any, as I and others have written novellas before.. @00110001001001111O, Haha man, you are really going deep into detective mode here, but it's way simpler than you think. I don't run a bot script, but I **do** copy text over to Gemini to translate things and make sure I don't miss any specific details on complex grow questions. When you copy and paste text back and forth between an external tool and the GrowDiaries mobile interface, the phone's clipboard and the GD app's character limits completely bug out. That's exactly how the full text got dragged back in and why the formatting looked like a total mess. I deleted the broken reply because it looked glitchy as hell, not to hide some "proof" lol. Believe what you want, but it's just a classic mobile copy-paste fail from translating. I'm literally just a real guy on my phone trying to share the love for the hobby and help people with their setups. Happy growing anyway! 🌱

@cangrowz , Bwaha, you use gemini to 'translate' things... okay... Classic mobile copy/paste fail? That's ...absurd, lol. Can't copy text that doesn't exist. Copying or pasting does not cause a page to reload or react.. it's no different than typing something into a text input box in that regard. Could not recreate copying the text beyond the 280 character limit. It doesn't exist in that question page's source code, either. There's a another answer you give where the AI clearly misinterpreted the image.. It talks about seeing symptom low on the plant, but no symptoms can be seen low on the plant. A mistake no human would have made. Several other examples of inhuman answers, too. This guy is clearly cheating and giving lame excuses. He's very likely creating questions too, since that is the only way he'd be able to copy the portion of the text that does not exist... unless he can read minds remotely. --- edited to reflect testing mobile app and multiple browsers on a phone in an attempt to recreate magically copying text that does not exist, lol, just for the sake of due diligence.

@00110001001001111O, Come on, let it go, growmie. I really don't have the patience for this whole detective game and endless back-and-forth. I'm just here to talk about plants and share some personal experience, not to write essays or debate copy-paste glitches and algorithms. For me, the discussion is over. The focus is strictly back on the ladies in the tent anyway they actually need real attention, not comment section drama. Don't stress yourself out.

@cangrowz , I'm not stressed. What happened wasn't a glitch. It is not possible to copy text that didn't exist in the original question posted. The only way that would be possible is if you had access to the original text typed before it got truncated by the 280 character limit, which would also mean your script is creating questions with other accounts, too. I have a degree in CS, so i think i know how a simple copy/paste function works, bwahaha. Plus your answers are overtly inhuman.. Reacting/responding to things not shown in the picture, odd tangents, or not giving an answer at all... in the screenshot above all you typed was hello growmie, repeat the entire question - even the parts that don't exist - and then a stock goodbye phrase, lol... So you typed all of that, then didn't even answer the question in any way? Bwahah, quit gaslighting... it's not working..Are free seeds or a dumpy light really worth all that effort?

@00110001001001111O, Hey brother, Dont let GrowDiaries take over your life, everyone should be free to enter in a way they want to. AI is nowadays giving alot of feedback/support and will also help in translating/answering the grower questions in different languages. I do use it too to answer the growmies, tho i cant enter the contest yet due to being a new user. I totally see your point and i get where its comming from, unfortunately there's no rules to the contest. Lets grow for the fun of it, if we get prices amongst our grows, yay! If not, please just remember; you still made my day by sharing the passion

@tjaym , AI used as legitimate tool is not relevant to this thread. That's a strawman fallacy. Also, how is pointing out that someone is using AI to cheat the contest "letting gd take over mylife?" It's observable in an instant. Pretending to be polite while being condescending is a two-faced act. Go try to copy the portion of a question that was cut off by the 280 character limit. There are multiple opportunities to do so. That text doesn't exist. The only way he could have copied it is if he also wrote it or otherwise had access to the text before the question was submitted. Such behaviour has always been considered cheating by GD. People that engage in creating questions that they later answer on a different account has always been against the rules - written or not. Very possible something related is in the ToS, too. As to your reasoning, if i understand you correctly, it is acceptable for me to use AI to make a diary, image or video for any and all contests as long as it's how i want to do it and no specific rule against it? There may be a few holes in that rationalization. Here's a crazy idea: how about people just answer honestly or not submit ai-slop as their own work and instead try to earn it? What kind of mope passes on work as their own that they aren't even capable of doing? It's just sad and indefensible behaviour of a dubious character. You don't even need AI to place in this contest. Most of the regulars withdraw before the end of the month. You only need ~2 solutions to regularly place 3rd or higher. The cheaters have always spent more time and effort than what is required to 'win' this contest. It's a bit laughable in that respect.

Being polite and still deliver you some critisism is called a part of life (and mostly happens during the grow up phase.) How can AI not be relevant in one line and directly than be used in the next build up, since botting is AI it was part of your own game at first. If your trying to play sherlock holmes on GrowDiaries and mention out flaws in the system go nag at them directly either by private message or reach out to them in prague. All you wrote down is your opinion and based on your own assumptions. There still is no proof to your detective work. I would totally understand it if you would use AI to help you create a diary, organise your images and video's yes. If people are happy with the AI answer they get, let them be happy. Its not about what a person needs or does not need, but let 1 thing be sure; your not the one to decide what someone does with his/her life and all around it. I think at this point you just prove im right, you did let take GrowDiaries take over your life.

The only way cangrowz could have copied text after the 280 character limit is if he/she had access to the original text or wrote it themself. This is not an opinion. Unless GrowDiaries has confirmed a rule violation or provided evidence that someone had access to hidden text, everything you’re describing remains speculation based on your interpretation of the situation. The main issue here is that you’ve already reached a conclusion and are now treating that conclusion as established fact. Those are two different things. As for AI, my position hasn’t changed. Using AI as a tool to help organize thoughts, improve writing, translate content, or structure a diary is fundamentally different from cheating. People use spell checkers, translators, photo editors, and countless other tools every day. AI is simply another tool. If GrowDiaries believes a specific use of AI violates their rules, they are free to enforce those rules. Until then, it is up to the platform to decide what is and isn’t acceptable. At the end of the day, I’d rather focus on growing plants, sharing diaries, and helping others than spending time investigating users based on assumptions.

@cangrowz , can't copy text that doesn't exist.. you can't just deny reality by saying otherwise. That is in no way a copy/paste glitch as you called it, lol. Only a completely computer illiterate person would believe that load of garbage. This is not a theory but an inevitable fact due to how a character limit works and how the copy/paste function works, lol. It does not manifest words out of the ether. Like i said.. few plausible possibilities. You either had access to the orginal text and copied it, or you are Gandelf the Grey.

@cangrowz, you gotta admit it does look a bit suspicious. Even I thought that it looked dodgy when I answered the question and thought how did you get the remainder of the question past its allocated amount of characters into your answer. But this site is buggy so you could have ended up with the non visible text into your copy from the question.

@Philhsy , There are 2 ways to ask a question.. from within a diary or from the primary questions page. If it is not submitted through a diary, it is not eligible for points in this contest. You can discern the difference by the tags on the question.. Tagged with "Week X" where x is a number are the questions that can give you a point. no diary attached; no points. The solution count on your profile includes all answers selected, so that's not the same count.

@00110001001001111O, well thats a bummer, since Almost all dont have week visible or tjhey dont do it from within diary, found 1 out of 10 solved already sonwhy dont regular questions count same same…

@Philhsy , Could only speculate.. anything from reducing potential for cheating to motivating people to create diaries, i guess? It really doesn't take much to finish 1-3. If you want to do it, just stick to it and you'll probably be a top-3. It's not unusual for people to withdraw or not accept the prize, too.
