@Dan_weed_man, It can be a bit misleading, the contests are not always followed to the fine print on Growdiaries. Just reticently they gave this prize to a grand master and maser. it was dumb as shit, when they where called out they said they didn't know it was only for newbies and apprentices then defended their actions while stealing from the new users of the site. "total bull shit" DOTM - Diary Of The Month contest is for the rest of us who are older on the site. not NOTM - Newbie Of The Month. As for first growing experience ever, its not followed, this gives new users under 1000 likes multiple chances to enter before they rank up to master. If it was only first ever grows the site would be plagued with fake profiles of people trying to win these seeds, and don't get me wrong it all ready has issues with fake profiles as you will soon find out but this helps a bit. ranking system below: 0-99 likes "newbie" 100-999 "apprentice" 1000-4999 "master" 5000-50,000-100,000? "grandmaster" 50,000/100,000+ "Guru" "Likes/Ranks" are also a garbage method of ranking a users ability to grow as a lot of people will [farm likes] useing BOTs to spam grows with crap comments like "good looking grow keep it up" and most of the people will like that comment as it praises them but the accounts who post them are just amassing likes to exploit the site for sponsorship and influence their "grow score" to win contests easier. grow score is a metric grow diaries uses to rank diaries. your score looks better if you are more engaged and popular in the community. but its not a win all from that alone, it just helps. Best of luck nest month and don't get to worked up about the main contests not making sense they never do, sometimes they are awarded it users who put no effort into it or have a shit plant and that's just growdiaries in a nutshell.
