California LightWorks’ SolarSystem 550 is a programmable LED grow light for mid-size indoor gardens. It draws up to 400 W and supports three-channel spectrum control (red, white and blue) via the optional SolarSystem Controller. Recommended coverage is up to 4x4 ft in bloom and about 6x6 ft in vegetative growth. The SS550 is rated at 888 μmol/s PPF and uses high-efficiency OSRAM diodes to replace a 600 W HPS with lower heat and energy use. It operates on 90–277 VAC, 50–60 Hz; maximum current is 3.3 A at 120 V. The housing measures 18 x 8.5 x 4 in and weighs about 13 lb, with active cooling and daisy-chain control networking. LED lifetime is rated at 50,000 hours and the warranty is five years.
