Is 23w domestic 2700K CFL enough for germinating? Better putting them outside under a dome?

I germinate practically all my seeds in the sun behind the window under a dome(bottom of plastic bottle) so the moist stay in the soil around the seeds and there’s a higher humidity when they sprout..after a day I air the dome and poke a few holes in it so the Rh gradually drops to a level without dome..if temps don’t go above 22c I even don’t use a dome, just make sure everything stays moist when they sprout Think about it..these magnificent plants are growing on this planet for more than 2000 years..ya think they had cfl back then?😂 Happy growing and stay safe🌱

Hey buddy when germinating, the dark ones have to be stored, preferably between two damp cloths and then in an airtight box that the humidity stays nice above :-) As soon as the seed is planted, you can turn on the light :-) I would during the vegi phase recommend at least 3500 k, with the vegi even from 4000 k :-) hope I could help you :-) greetings and have fun bro 👌😎🍀

to germinate....you do not need any light! it happens in darkness. If you mean seedling stage, go with the CFL for 7-10 days, gives heat, easy to adjust, less energy consumption. But mind!!! for CFL to hit the sweet spot in vegetative stage you need to be careful at the amount of lumens, not the force of it. It has to be 6500k Lumens (bright white light) for vegetation, the ones 2700k (worm yellow) are for flowering

A 23w cfl will be fine for germinanting and growing 3-4 seedlings for the first week and then youll need more light. Make sure to keep the cfl close to the plants, like within 6in from the plants. If you are in an area where the hours of sunlight are approaching longer than 14h of light per day and your temps are staying above 65F every night id throw em outside as the sun is overall a much better light source than a low wattage cfl. If temps stay too low outside right now id start em under the cfl.
