I always work with girls before watering, have one branch snaped in all my history of heavy bending and only when pot ties got accidently reliesed and i had to retie just watered plant. Usually i even try to train them before no food watering, because sometimes i do lst, defoliation and toping in one go.

Yeah it definitely seems to me to do it before watering...not sure why but yeah I have broken like 3 now saved one and now I'm hoping she heals ok again if so at all but fingers crossed but definitely seemed to happen after watering and literally I'd walk away from my plants next time I look it's just cracked and I'm left like wtf...think I gotta be more careful

I don't believe it should...unless the watering involved soaking a branch that got too woody to make it more pliable. I think it's best to do lst when the plant is most happy...but i suppose there have been times where my plant was underwatered and limp so that might have made for easy but inaccurate tie downs
