Tricomes

When you looking for tricomes to be 5% amber and the rest cloudy do you look throughout the whole plant or look for 5% on each nug? My 2nd round of pistols are all almost browned and curling back into the bud. See about 4-10 amber tricomes on each bud. Hard to see amber in pics.

On a small scale op, you can look for 5% on each branch and harvest the ones that are to your liking. The ones who are not quite ready yet you can leave for longer to mature.

Hello Brianh. Judging by trichomes is safer than pistils because that is where the THC is produced. Look on the cola bud gland instead of entire plant because you are going to smoke that! 4-10 amber for each bud is very low. You can control the high you want to get based on the amount of cloudy/amber. More cloudy = more energetic/less relaxed , More amber = more sleepy/more medicated. Sometime when its hard, go around the bud and take a set of 10 trichomes ( easier to count ). If 2 is amber out of 10, its 20% and so on, i find it the easiest way but everyone has there own way 🙏 ! 😊

You'll need to look at each cola. The lower buds tend to take longer, so check each bud before you cut it. I'll also say that 5% amber is really low. You'll have clear trichomes left at that point. For highest THC, go 10% and for some added relaxation effects, go 20%.
