No, don't do it!!
They are making the bulk of the energy your plant requires for it to grow.
Removing any healthy green leaves will reduce energy production, which will slow growth, leading to potentially smaller growth too, especially with autos and their limited vegetative phase.
Your plant will grow her biggest and best flowers with all her leaves left alone, unless they go yellow, then cut them off, once yellow.
Maximum healthy green leaves = maximum energy production = maximum growth.
This is basic plant biology 101.
The "potential bud sites" are relying on the big fan leaves to make the energy that they need to grow, and light we humans can not see, will actually penetrate upper leaves to strike lower leaves and stimulate photosynthesis, therefore making vital energy for growth.
Cutting off healthy green leaves will just stimulate your plant to grow new healthy green leaves, which is a pointless and energy wasting exercise.
Plants CAN NOT "channel" energy, all energy is used throughout the plant equally.
Less leaves = less energy = less growth.
