Go to my diary "cannabis conundrums" and in week 7 you will find pictures of exactly what you are looking for, presuming your plant is displaying its primordia/pre flowers already. Until it does, there is not guaranteed 100% way of telling, just by looking at the plant. Hope this helps,...... Organoman.

High, Congrats with your first grow here on Grow diaries. If its bagseed, you dont know yet. If its bought , you should have to know if its regular or feminized or auto flower. The thing is, nature will take care for itself if you geminate that seed. When you go from vegetation stage 18h light, to flowering 12h light, soon you will see what sex it is. A tiny pistel will appear somewhere in an armpit of the plant. Then your lucky enough to have a female seed and go on. If there more some kind of clamps shaped balls, that turn into flowers, its a male. No weed will be harvested. But the pollen is collectable and can be used further in your growing adventure some day. But lets first focus on the female side. I hope i could give you some insight. 🙏🌿🌿🌿🙏

males will not have any littlenwhute haris at their bracts where the branching splits off into two. usually there are hairs there that indicate females. Once past initial stage switch you can see male pollen sacs quite well as thet look like small rugby balls. males tend to be a little lanky too , I think this is to have a vantage point for releasing pollen. females are all about small white hairs only but don't mistake an emerging pistil pod for male pollen sacs. Worth looking at some example pics of a male sac and female hairs ( don't search pornhub for these!.lol)
