Sure can be, but I only see three nodes not five, nodes are counted in pairs, not individually.
I have had plants like this many times over the years and some will then grow branches that will also top themselves. It does not harm potency and surprisingly can increase yields, all by themselves. Sometimes though, a self topping plant will then have no growing tips come from where the topping occurred and in that case, they are not worth continuing with. They present as two new leaves with no growths between them and will cause many problems and are best replaced with a strong and "normally" growing plant/seedling.
If the truth be known, these days I am fairly ruthless when it comes to seedling selection and any that do strange things early on get culled, I really don't want the headache these types of plants give and only keep "perfectly normal" seedlings to continue with. When starting a new batch of seeds for the next crop cycle, it is always prudent to plant some extra seeds in case any fail or you get weird seedlings. That way you can select only the best and healthiest seedlings to grow through to harvest and not try and rescue and then have to nurse any weirdos. I generally plant at least 2-3 seeds of each strain I want to grow and keep only the best one. While this may seem expensive/wasteful, I do not intend spending 3 or 4 months growing crap plants. The spares can either be destroyed or given away, but be aware of anyone promising to give you some buds as a reward for giving them the seedling/s as in my experience, it is a rare occasion that this actually occurs and this is why I just destroy them these days, not to mention it also keeps your activities from becoming public knowledge, as it does not take a genius to work out when your plants are getting ready for harvest by judging the seedling you gave them as to your plants own progress. Unfortunately, when growing cannabis, it is best that no one or as few as possible people actually do know that you are doing so, especially if growing outdoors, otherwise plants somehow grow legs and then go missing! Mother Fu^^ers!!
Hope this helps, Organoman.
