Wilting but not over watered

Middle auto AK is wilting more and more. Info in diary. It can’t be overwatering, it’s in 40/60 perlite/coco in an airpot same treatment as the others. Ph perfect at run off, I’m waiting for drying out to water again. Temp and humidity perfect. You can see the others loving life!

Hey, thanks for the replies. Still having the same issue this morning. I have been waiting for the top of the coco to be lighter coloured and moist but not wet for the first inch of it. Before watering again which is about 1.5days so far but due to growth is around every day now. The EC (I measure in ppm) was 100 higher for the AK when I measured yesterday. I’m abit worried it’s stopped up taking now as it’s getting lighter in colour. I have moved the lights a few inches higher today to see if that has an effect. If not I will go back to watering issues being the cause and do the advised 3 instalments. So frustrating as it’s been a great grow so far and so much work to get the set up dialled in as it is. Thanks all and will keep you updated.

Firstly, each and every plant has its own requirements and just because the other plants seem happy, it does not mean every plant will be happy using the same routine. The AK has many more leaves, meaning a higher rate of transpiration, which can lead to higher water needs. Secondly, some plants will naturally grow with drooping leaves, which isn't a sign of wilting or anything being wrong, they just grow with droopy leaves. To determine if the AK is needing more water, check her fan leaves - if the leaf stems are soft/floppy, she needs more water. If the leaf stems are firm, then she doesn't need extra water and the droopy leaves are just a genetic quirk of this strain. Personally, I think she is suffering from under watering, her leaf mass indicates she will transpire more than the others, and while the amount of water is enough for them, it perhaps isn't quite enough for the AK. If the substrate is over dry, you will get "run through" whereby the water will go through the pot, but very little is actually absorbed. Try watering her in three lots, each water application spaced out about 30 minutes each, this way the coco will swell up each time a bit more, causing more water to be absorbed on the second and third application, rather than giving all the water at once, where the majority of the water just runs straight through and making you think that there is enough water due to the run off, but in reality your coco has become over dry/hydro-phobic and not much water is being absorbed. So, if you determine the AK should get 1.5 litres of water, give her 3 x 500ml, spaced out about 30 minutes between applications and if after 2 hours the leaf stems are still floppy/soft, repeat the 3 x 500ml. If this does not "fix" the droopy leaves, then we have eliminated one possible cause and will then have to look for a different solution, but we will know it is not thirst that is causing the droopy leaves. Hope his helps, and please let me know how you get on with the AK, I would be most interested in the answer to its droopy leaves,. ....... Organoman.

It's always tough when one plant shows some symptoms when the rest are perfectly healthy under the same conditions. So I am sure genetics are at least partially a factor here. You're right that with that coco-perlite mix it shouldn't be overwatering. How often are you watering when you are waiting for the coco to dry out? And do you find the plant becomes more limp before or after watering? I find coco does best when it is always a bit moist personally, and can really start causing issues when it gets too dry. I would check the runoff EC if possible, if it is significantly higher inflow EC it could imply underwatering (1.9EC runoff for an inflow of 1.6 for example). The plant is still looking pretty good, so I am sure it will end up doing well 🌱👍

Checked the roots yesterday, no smell, run off ph was 6.2 so no issue there. Yup, intake brings in outside air constantly at a 20% fan usage minimum have a dual controller. Exhausting via filter. 2 fans moving air inside. Humidifier you can see on the floor in the pics maintains 50-55%. Temps are around 25c. I just dont understand what it can be, same set up, same nutes, using ph perfect so no ph issue. It just suddenly came on a few days ago.
