In my experience, twin seedlings that I have kept, that is, just the bigger of the two and cutting the smaller one off, has had mixed results. Some turn out ok, but the majority have either grown/flowered weirdly or been hermaphrodites.
These days, any twin that come up gets culled, due to the past unpredictable results. Leaving both twins to grow has led to even more erratic results, with both seedlings competing heavily, leading to two pitiful plants and not two good ones. Trying to separate them does not work either, as they have a common root system to begin with, which makes separation impossible.
