Topless Branch

I accidentally removed the top from already cleaned-up branch couple of days before flipping. Question is - should I leave it be and hope it develops something or cut off the whole branch so the plant doesn't waste energy on keeping it alive? Pics done after cleaninig.

Would leave until you can see pistols. When the top of the branch doesn't develop any flowers I would shorten the branch to the next bud sight.
