Aqueminianswered grow question 3 years ago In my opinion and in my practice: I foliar feed very lightly 2 times a week even with DWC hydroponics, for both soil and hydro. I specifically only foiler feed Silica( Armor Si) because I don't like mixing it in my nutrients. It's room temperature 74F-78F. I feed 25% of the recommended dose. I repeat about very lightly. I slightly mist them, you shouldn't see droplets building or you risk nutrient burn, light burn, mold, or soaking the leaves and they will look funky. I run my lights 24 hours. I don't test the PPM or EC but I pH at 6.0 to 6.3
This is my own preference. You will get different advice from everyone about this topic. Experiment and see what works for you. Also, I start foliar feeding as soon as the leaves open till it shows sex. Stop using any silica after the plant has hairs. You can add any nutrients you want but it's at your own risk.
