Also, you're feeding it strong PK nutrients meant for giant trees millions of times this plant's current size, not baby weeds.
3rd, those little leaves you just killed are specifically there to feed the plant as it creates its next couple of nodes (without the need for any external nutrients from soil or fertilizer or nutes).
Next time, find some quality soil, mix it with earthworm castings and compost, put the seed in and leave it alone for a month except to add a little water when it completely dries out.
That's literally all you need to do first month. Don't touch it other than that unless you want to start learning how to train the plant.
