It feeds microorganisms in the soil but does not directly feed the plant.

It’s a byproduct of sugar production. It’s like the diesel of sugars haha.
Molasses is more beneficial during flowering. If you are going to use molasses look at the labels and make sure that is unsulfured molasses.
It helps micro organisms do their thing.
