Have my plants 'foxtailed'?

Scooby_Doo
Scooby_Doostarted grow question 3 years ago
My plants have grown so high they're almost touching the LED light. I can't raise the light any higher so unsure what my options are. The buds appear very far apart rather than clumped. Pistils are brown so I assume the plant is close to harvest. What should I do, fellow growers?

Buds. Too few
Plant. Too tall

just flush her and chop it. Pollination can happen in hundreds of ways if you take air in from outdoors and someone else is growing near by it can pollinate. if you go on a walk with your dog you could pick up pollen on your clothes and as youve ben in there messing around its got on your plant some how i just cropped and i found alot of seeds in my bud but its not fully seeded so aslong as you pick out the seeds after you grind it the weed is absolutly fine it all depends on when it happens if shes been in flower for say 6 weeks and then she gets pollinated she has already done alot of trich development so it would not be that bad yes you will loose potency but thats really it you would still have a nice potent bud at the end it can also happen being a herm plant which mine was though do some reading there are several diferent types of herms too

Yeah something didn’t quite go right.. could be genetics, could be your set up.. But those aren’t quite properly developed it looks like.. it’s not really fox tailing tho

O and in terms of harvest, Use a macro lens to see what the trichomes are doing. 10-30% amber and the rest milky is ideal harvesting time. Pistils can dry out if the environment is dry and not getting enough water, not always a solid indicator of when to chop.

That does not look like fox tailing to me. The plants are just stretching out and will thicken up in the following weeks. The tips might get burnt from the light being so close but if the rest gets nice and thick it should not be a big problem. Sometimes extra nitrogen can cause the stretching and wreaking of stems, but that's mostly seen in seedlings and young plants. Some strains of cannabis will stretch a lot in the flowering stage. It's more of a Sativa trait. Try looking up your breeders info on the seeds you grew. I see its a custom strain on your diary. Best of Luck
