Do these look healthy? Thoughts? I'm new to hydro/growing

I have autos growing in a dwc system being fed half the regular amount of hydroguard, calmag, and grow/bloom. 1 plant is a week younger. The dark green plant looks like its leaves are clawing and has big brown spots on the leaves. The other has some brown dots and little yellow.

First signs of nitrogen/nutrient toxicity, plain and simple. The super, super green leaves are the give away!

Are you monitoring your ph closely. 5.8 is where it needs to be. Also are just the ends of roots in the water? If not the roots can't breath. The spots look like when my plants have fluctuated in ph in dwc then I catch it.
