You will not lose anything by going to 18/6, in fact you will gain much due to your plant having a correctly functioning metabolism and being able to grow how it has evolved to do. With being a auto I would be appling lst to it already. Not sure what you mean by bends badly. Drooping can be a over or under water issue.
