Yep, they will die anyway, which is normal.
Instead of the toilet roll, just fill your pot up more, this will support the stem and the buried portion of stem will sprout roots eventually.

Purple petioles and cupping downSo, after watering with root+ 1.3ml/gal and amino extreme 1.4ml/gal and putting in a light that is double the wattage from the one prior it seems they got light/heat stressed. Why are my leaves canoeing down, yellowing and drooping a bit but only at the top new growth?The top leaves near the new growth are drooping down a bit and canoeing downwards as well.
