Thrichs or Hairs

Hello I've got 2 12.5 autos that I didn't know were autos till several weeks in. The Thrichs are cloudy but the hairs are all red going towards brown. In this scenario which one do you go by. Normally I'd pull when Thrichs are bout %50 amber. But that could be another 1.5 weeks

Some autos trichomes won’t turn amber at all no matter how long you leave them , they are a great indicator normally though .
If you feel like the buds are stalling out and only degrading rather than progressing you should probably follow that instinct and harvest .

Have to agree with @gREEn7o0 ... trichs are the most important indicator. You don't have a diary going on this grow so I'm not sure how long these have been in flower... but it matters not... All my auto grows (and I only grow autos) have had different times to harvest... one was harvested 9 weeks from seed, another was harvested 16 weeks from seed... you just have to let your plant decide when it's finished - that's one of the reasons they're called AUTOflowers! 😊 THEY decide and it's automatic!

Mr. Green is on it. The hairs are unreliable (some strains will have white hairs up til harvest time), and the trichomes are better indicators of ripeness.

Harvest based on trichomes. That is what you are growing and farming. They are what has your THC and terpenes.
I would probably harvest before 50% of your trichomes are amber, seems like thats a bit late. But to each their own, everyone has their preference.

Dead BudThis bud looks bad: Twisted leaves and dark edges, the pistils are all orange and the bud isnt growing anymore, it looks a bit dry.
This situation started suddenly this week and is slowly getting worse every day, none of the other buds seem to have been affected.
Should i cut it?

How close to harvest do you think?How many more weeks before harvest? ILGM website says flowering is 9-12 weeks and I'm just about done with 7 weeks. I don't have great close-up photos of trichomes but when I look at them through a loupe I don't see any amber. Pistils now majority orange.
