m0useanswered grow question 3 years ago air-pots dry out really fast and because of that the outside diameter is often not used for growing more of a buffer so go up in size if you go down this route, I've also seen people put a fabric liner in the bottom of the pot to prevent excess runoff of the medium.
I asked this same question before and went with root pouches. or fabric pots with thick sides, little bit less evaporation, water from everywhere "sides bottom and top" and easy to use. The cost as well is a good point 3$ vs a pot for 3gal, can get 3-5 uses out of a fabric pot before replacing it if you treat it well and get descent ones. I'd like air-pots but the cost is way to high for what your getting. moulded plastic, some no name brands look ok on amazon.
Good Luck!
