Newbie questions: why is a Cola called a Cola? And is flowering seen as started as soon as the little Pistils are seen or sometime later? Anyone got a simple mix for making Chicken Pellet poo tea? Everything I find on YT seems to be making a vast amount of raw 5h!t water.

A cola, also called a “bud site,” refers to a cluster of buds that grow tightly together. While smaller colas occur along the budding sites of lower branches, the main cola—sometimes called the apical bud—forms at the top of the plant. Pre-flower is when the pistils first show up. They will grow into budlets in about 1-2 weeks. Plenty of recipes to use chicken manure. Just make sure it's not fresh manure. It needs to be composted or aged properly to remove salmonella and other pathogens.

Good answers below regarding why is a cola a cola. Flowering starts when you switch the plant to 12/12 and or see pistils fomring for me. photos vs autos mildly different what triggers flowering but all the same otherwise. I'd mix in the chicken shit into the medium vs making a tea. Seems more a mess to clean up. Good Luck!

A cola is just the term for female flowering parts, with weed it tends to refer to the tops of the plant forming clusters of buds. When the pistils appear that's the first proper sign of flowering. Try scaling the recipe down to how much you want, if its for 100L and you want 10L use 10x less ingredients, it'll be the same end product more or less.
