There not showing sex yet, your burning the plant reduce the nutes dude also wipe off the leaves if you get water on them the white spots you see on some are dried nutrients

When it starts showing flowers you will know. White Hairs/pistils = female Balls/pollen sacs = male

There is no 100% certain way to tell if a plant is male or female until the plants start the flowering process.
