Keep all fan leaves. If anything you want to remove the small growth between the fan leaves in the lower and inner sections. This is where you will get bud growth. Removing the spots mentioned will focus on the same spots that are getting more light producing bigger buds. It helps prevent larf

Why cut the leaves?? For what specific purpose?? Just remember - Less leaves = less energy being made = less growth.........

I don't think you need to do any defoliation - you've got some nice spread of the buds and it doesn't look like there are a lot being shaded by the fan leaves. If I'm wrong, you can always just tuck the fan leaves under the buds to keep them producing for the plant but allowing the buds the light they need. Nice looking grow! Good luck!
