Defoliation of Fan leaves. The COBRA's growth...

Defoliation of Fan leaves. The COBRA's growth structure is very tight nodes with large, Indica-type fan leaves. The largest one (3rd pic) has tripled in size from the last photo. I have been bending the leaves under side-branches. Can or should I cut them off to allow light in?

I defoliate my plants personally. I think they come back stronger after a good defoliation. I basically look down on the plant from the top and remove any leaves that are blocking bud sites. Any leaves not blocking bud sites can stay. I also remove any yellowing or dying leaves as she goes through flowering. I really think it helps. Feel free to ask any questions. And have fun! 👍

I have tried doing it and not doing it. Ten growers will give you ten diferent answers to this controversial issue. If you are going ahead with it, do keep in mind that for whatever leaf you pluck, there should be another below to catch the light that it was receiving. Also defoliation will slow your plant growth. My last grow I did it and the yield was great, wheter due defoliation or something else I can't tell.

Defoliation is a debate.. I prefer not to defoliate unless really necessary as the leaves create the energy for the plant to grow especially in the vegetative stage. I'd leave it to do its thing so long, as it looks like its getting enough light still in the mean time i say just keep LST the branches away to let more light in and closer to when you want to switch if ts too bushy then maybe remove some leaves, If you do go ahead though dont take more than 20% at of the plants leaves at a time.
