Mosaic pale discolouration of older leaves

Hey fellow growers. It is day 16 since sprouting. The development looks good, but I see discolouration of older leaves. I researched a bit, and it seems to be thrips? I searched really good but I cannot spot any insects. What do you think? Preventively use insecticide or wait?

High little pot, This damage is done by thrips. You can see them walking on the leaves and their eggs at the bottom of the leaves. You can kill then really easy within 1 week with neem oil. It is cheap and 100% organic. Just buy neem oil with a emulsifier. Make a 3% neem oil solution with water. Spray the leaves (top and bottom) every day for 1 week. End result after 1 week is death thrips and happy plants! Happy Growing! 😋

Thank you very much for help! Dr Zymes is not available here, so I ordered neem oil. I also put yellow stickers around plants.

You've nailed it - it's either thrips or mites but in either case, using some Dr. Zymes Eliminator will solve your problem. This is an organic solution and can be used all the way through to the day of harvest if need be. In my experience, neem oil is not very effective and certainly cannot be used when your plant gets into flower (and thrips have a way of coming back and coming back and coming back). I've had the same problem and after the initial 3 days of spraying, am now spraying all my plants once a week as a preventative. Works very well. You won't get rid of their markings but they won't be doing further damage to your plant! Good luck!

I have had thrips and it does look similar to their damage but its missing a few of the things I normally see with them. I tent t see dead patches mixed in with the yellow that have small black dots specked into the flesh and the photos your posting are missing this. It does look more like Mite damage to me, and they hide on the underside of the leaves. https://www.growweedeasy.com/cannabis-plant-problems/how-to-get-rid-of-spider-mites I would look again but go under the leaves and use a jewellers loop or magnifying glass as they are really small and hard to see when there numbers are lower. If you identify them or there remnants like egg sacks or eggs I would treat it with permethrin, Best Of Luck! ***disclaimer, multiple people are answering all questions as there is a contest called GOTM, when a user is selected as the answer they get a point. Dr. Zymes Eliminator is a expansive way to use citric acid, that's the only ingredient.

Thrips are tiny. Like, super tiny. I suggest BT spray. It's organic, won't hurt your plant in any way, and will take out anything that is taking bites out of your plant. Then, it dies a few days later. I hope this helps. Good luck! I hate having to deal with pests.

Fairly certain that’s a sucking insect - I assume you looked under the leaves but if not, do that. I’ve had that too where you don’t see insects and I think it’s because they’re from tiny flies that are more mobile.

I am giving no nutrients yet. But the All-mix soil from Bio-Bizz is heavily pre-fertilized

My tip, A plant as young as this should not get feeded by nutrients but by light. Most of the time i start since week 4.
