The paler new growth is normal, especially if you look before sunrise. A lot of new growth has not seen light, so hasn't had time to do any photosynthesis.
As long as it isn't drastically lighter, it's normally a good sign.
My guess for the burned spots is that when you sprayed, some drops clung on to some of the serrations.
Then one or 2 things could have done the damage.
1. As the drop dries the pesticide concentration gets higher to the point it can burn the leaf.
2. The sun hit the plant before it was completely dry and those drops act like a magnifying glass and concentrate it on the leaf and burn it.
I avoid spraying pesticides and rather try to find predatory mites that eat whatever pest is giving you trouble, it is much more effective and pretty much no stress for the plant.
