A friend is having problems with his nft grow. These are clones, the tank is at 5.9 ph and ec of 1.6. Using canna aqua veg. Has had some mycelium in the tank too incase this is a factor. Previous grow of same strain was flawless. Any help and advise would be appreciated. Thanks

omg... do NOT throw calmag at this one! That is NOT the magical answer to every problem! I'm with Creepy_Steve here in that I think you've got a root problem ... has the reservoir been changed/cleaned out recently? the H2O2 drench is a good possible avenue of attack here... but I'd also question whether or not the pH is being read properly - has it been calibrated recently? Perhaps the pen is broken? I would get some super basic strips to measure the pH to see if perhaps the problem isn't with the pen reading incorrectly... especially if prior grows have been faultless, I can't see all of a sudden having root problems (although you can't rule that out!).. I just think it's something mechanical like the pen not working properly.. Good luck... and get your buddy to join the community here and put up a diary with as much info as he can reconstruct... that would be very beneficial to us when we're trying to figure out what's going on!

i mean you can calculate the ppms and look... that sort of necrosis all over... more likely roots. would need to know progression to further trouble shoot and ppms to more easily spot an issue if not root-related.

looks like a root issue... maybe a h2o2 drench will help? maybe a nute component is too high... a breakdown of ppm per nute would make it stickout like a sore thumb. make use of an online ppm calculatir. you have all teh infor you need.. just need a little elbow grease on your end to use it.
