First, there'll be some variation due to how any 1 bud is constituted...
also, ensuring they have a similar moisture content will help with consistency too.
colder temps should reduce runniness. but, this is also part of genetic variation to some extent. just as some buds have that greasy feel and others are more sticky. different ratios of various oils and what not will exist. Believe hotter gives the darker extract too?
you want to max out around 2000 psi, give or take. (relative to size of what you smash, not entire size of your platens). might be able to push to 2500psi, but if you don't have a pressure guage it's going to be a total guess anyway.
So, definitely play around with temps. I like 170-180F. "colder" (simply comparitive/relative term) will reduce yield, of course. if you weren't destroying your filter bags, i doube the pressure was too high.
length of time... is it a long process? 3-5 mins is about all you want to expose to heat... longer reduces the more volatile terps as they will evaporate in greater numbers.
still pretty new to rosin pressing despite building one a couple years ago while not using it as much as i expected... def google.
