This is a somewhat complicated answer.
If you have proper rhizosphere outdoor you can feed just about any natural pH water that you might find. Rain water is within a certain pH spectrum that is fine in an optimal soil environment.
No lights have been able to replicate the sun. In my humble opinion tho you can blast seedlings with high umols/sec/m2 and they’re fine. The whole idea of keep it around 200-300 is nonsense IMO.
And there’s a difference between just making it outdoor and thriving. Indoor canna is different because of the parameters that go into growing it..
For what it’s worth - Mother Nature works in mysterious ways no doubt.. I grew one last year outdoor with no fertilizer til about week 3 of flower - but it paled in comparison to what I can do indoor.
Then again, at the end of the day - it comes down to personal opinion. My neighbor loves my outdoor grows compared to indoor bud.. the indoor is stronger, terpy-er, and more dense.. but some ppl still prefer that outdoor grown bud.
If you tried to grow outdoor in a picky medium such as coco, it would not go well. Soil is really your only option for rain water because of the ability of the rhizosphere to take in a wide range of pH and be good..
As far as humidity? Shit , ask those from the outdoor 2021 season how much humidity and botrytis played a role in their grows.. I’d say half of folks I know growing outdoor (europe, South America, North America) had issues with bud rot / botrytis.
