Is this the purple phenotype? the purple color is bleeding into the fan leaves on the upper/more mature buds. it's beautiful with the orange pistils. thanks for your insight!

That's exactly what's happening and it's stunning... if you'd like to see an intense purple on fan leaves (and wherever the purple was, there were masses of trichomes), take a look at my Pink Kush.... some of the leaves were completely taken over by the purple (which was almost black!) growdiaries.com/diaries/157106-grow-journal-by-growinggrannie/week/889355

actually upon closer examination I’m seeing what appears to be orange bugs ?! Or is that actually on the leaf tissue ?

Yes this isn’t uncommon with many canna varieties. Nice work. Looks like some possible lock out tho, upper leaves showing some possible deficiency signs from possible lock out.

What am I doing wrong?I’m a new grower my leaves started to shrivel up at the tips and get brown. My friend told my it’s cause over watering so I water less but the problem keeps getting worse. It’s a month old and I use 2ml calmag 2.5 of micro and grow and 1 ml micro. I only water three times a week.
