Portable AC in cooling mode blows out tonns of hot air keeping the ventilation at a high level. In dry mode it should be less effective in terms of ventilation, but still should blow out a lot. The problem might happen when it stops cooling and no air is pushed out. You'll have a problem until it starts working again. Separate exhaust fan is a must.
I am using portable AC sometimes, but never in the box. The model I use has only cooling mode, it gives too cold air that would just kill the plants. So when the weather is too hot, I just place it near the intake to bring some cold air inside the box. Worked well for two grows.
