I'm trying to get to the bottom of a debate. I'm looking to the veterans in growing with a few years of experience to answer. Because chances are they have delt with it 1st hand and figured it out. Chemical taste in bud A-Improper flush B-Improper dry/cure C-overfeeding

Thanks for the help. Did a proper 2 week flush and weed smells of chemicals after 1 week dry. So I'm leaning more towards a proper cure fixes it.

I agree with others saying flushing is a myth. Its just not needed. FLUSH as in buckets and buckets of water all at once. I do follow the same process as Organoman suggested, I stop giving nutrients and use only PH'd water for the end bit of my plants life but I also grow with dry amendments I mix into the soil. So its a bit different then using liquid nutrients. If liquid I would tapper the feeds off 2nd last week and then little to none end week so your not wasting the nutrients. I would bet it was a bad cure but it smells more like cat piss ammonia. and if it is not vented out and allowed to dry more it can destroy the quality of the buds. If they where over dried they have little to no smell mostly. Good Luck!

probably just a shit tasting plant. assuming it wasn't a toxic mess. if you sealed it too soon while it was observably wet, then that could be a cause too. i think there are a couple nutes supposedly correlated with that "chemical" taste. it woudln't matter if overdosed from one source or another (ie "organic" or not.. too much is too much, simply stated by forest gump)

Just Water , you still have to ph the water 6.4 - 5.8 . I Myself do 6.4 ph all the way to flush.

The water for 2 weeks of flush, it still gets ph to 5.8 right? Or just straight up water?

Stop all fertilizers/nutrients 2 weeks before harvest and give only plain water for those last 2 weeks. Easy peasy.

Dude the compounds you feed your plant even with “salt based” nutes are in the plant whether you flush or not. It’s like saying don’t feed your cows protein before you slaughter so you don’t have protein in your meat.. Flushing has its place in growing but I disagree with it being a necessary practice for every grow at the end, look up “green rx flushing study” on Google.

A-Improper flush, - If plants are not flushed right then it will leave a Chemical taste and dark ashes , sometimes hard when smoked. Give at least 10 - 14 days of just water during the last stages to insure your plants are flushed.
