Hi GD, what should be good cooldown for light defo? talking about cut 1-3 leaves that shading out and let them recovering a day or 2 is ok? or what to expect from plant to see if it ok from defo. And do you heavy defo before stretching ? or just keep light defo till end TIA.🙏

depends on how big she is, if shes a few weeks old she wont notice 1-3 leaves missing. she will keep growing as she already is. if she stresses then you will notice a slowing of the growth. id rather do the heavy defoliation a week before flowering stretch, and 3 weeks into flowering when the stretch ends and buds just start to form. but as its an autoflower, too little defoliation is better than too much. I highly recommend removing lower shoots that will be covered during flowerin, not worth tiny buds.

I forget to closed the subject here Thanks everyone answering, I find my plant recovering good but may a bit harm from that or from stress at beginning of session. She grow healthy but a little low on process. cut them when 17 days old from sprout. I think the best for me is wait until someone got shade and new node on overlap leave is ready to shoot is best timing to defoliation. and old leaves that look not growing anymore on lower branches a couple leaves in a day or two.

Hi mate, in perfect world where everyone can have as big setup they wish they could have. there would be no need for any defoliation. I have currently 3 Big Bang Autos in small setup and without some defoliation these plants wouldnt survive or yield would be very poor. I have read and ask a lot and so far I am on day 38 and grow it's been going very well. I have applied LST on main colas only first defoliation around week 3-4 approx 20 leaves from all 3. No signs of stress and did installed scrog net. Second around day 30 defoliation was done mainly under the netting and goodvfew big leaves from above, also here very little or none signs of stress. I am planning to one more and possibly final in coming days or weeks. Have a look at my grow and see if you find something useful. Keep as many leaves you can if they not blocking colas from light, I know that the leaves tucking it's a bit time consuming and difficult at times but as for myself l do enjoying this. Happy and healthy growing brother Peace ✌️

check my 3 most recent diaries, youll see no leaves taken off and how big plants are. its stupid to harm autos. tuck leaves, tie them to get better poisitioning, do anything just dont harm. after flower strech is over on days 16-22 of flower you can do some clearing, i found its best way with autos.

I use Defoliation technique. In Veg, to modified the plant structure. My next diaries update will show the modifications, all my plants were defoliated at beginning of this week, pulling off all fan leaves and leaving only the side shoots (all my plants were topped a week before). I won’t recommend heavy Defoliation before stretch, the plant needs a lot of Nitrogen during this period where it grows twice in size in just 3 weeks. My last advice would be to not stunt an Autoflowering strain. Its life cycle is embedded in its genetic code making it very hard to determine exactly when it starts the flowering period.

yes if she is growing vigorously and healthy then its all good. shes a weed, she will survive. :D these plants are crazy! if youd prefer not to defoliate, try moving the leaves out of the way, tucking them behind a branch/leaf. every grow will teach you something new, because remember every plant is unique. trust your intuition!
