Remove the plastic cover, seeds need good air exchange for germination and not a super humid atmosphere from being covered, which can lead to the seeds rotting in the ground. If you are confused about when to give them light, just set your lights to 18/6 and switch them on right now. This way your seedlings will get light as soon as they break the surface. Make sure the soil does not dry out, you can spritz the surface of the soil 2-10 times a day to keep it moist. Hanging your light a bit higher while waiting for them to emerge will stop the soil drying out too quickly. Grow your autos with 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness during any 24 hour period and they will thrive. Strictly speaking, seeds need absolute darkness to germinate (being buried) and will not need light until they emerge from the soil.

All plants, even auto flowering cannabis plants, need sleep, running your lights at 24/0 will lead to plants that live with an incomplete photosynthesis cycle, as plants need darkness to undertake certain vital metabolic processes that they can not do when the lights are on. Plants grown with an incomplete photosynthesis cycle will suffer health problems and will not be able to produce prime and balanced trichomes. Google "photosynthesis" and find out for yourself if you are sceptical. Cheers, Organoman.

It doesn't need light till the first leaves open. I run my Autoflowers under 24 hours in my veg tent of light once they open there first leaves.

Hey Mate, There is no need for light until they pop through the surface. My Babypots, or jiffies are in the dark @ 27° until breakthrough happens.. then I turn on the lights. Worx great... Good luck and happy trails for the rest of the way 🤞 Servus✌️

Not sure what your asking but a seed will germinate and come above ground in coplete darkness. If the plant is going to stay inside the whole time just set your lights for 20/4

I leave light on 18 to 20 hours a day. The seeds need wet, warm, and darkness to germinate. So light keeps them warm and no need for plant to readjust later. A quarter to half inch in soil provides dark. Your dome keeps moisture in longer. I soak my seeds for 24 hours in water in dark prior to soil. Hopefully this helps. Good luck 🌱🌱🌱👍
