At several tops of the plant the calyxes are turning brown. I've never experienced this before on my plants. is this something to worry about?

cut a chunk off and do what jungle barns said. do a little inspection -- away from the garden. if it is rot, you don't want to needlessly spread a shit ton of spores. sugar leaves dying is a good sign - they will pull off easily, but will be visible dead before that point. grey or white fuzz underneath the buds along stem is another sign. if in doubt, be safe.. cut it out. large berth around it. cut it out now; limit spread. see more signs, consider early harvest. imo, it's all trash even if not visibly infected, spores were floating around all over.. the whole things tastes off after that. the outdoor i saw this on and cut large chunks off.. the visibly clean stuff while drying didn't hold up well over time. sometimes you gotta make due, but fuck rot.

Before you start cutting, I’d make sure the drying has signs of mold first. It will be fuzzy and white or grey, nasty looking stuff. There will be no doubt if it is mold or a fungus of some kind.

Looks like it could possibly be the beginning of bud rot. I recommend you cut out all affected buds using rubber gloves and avoid touching anything unaffected. Make sure your humidity level is around 50% and have a good fan circulating fresh air around your grow. Keep a close eye on it to ensure it doesn’t spread. It can be saved. Good luck on a healthy harvest.

Calyexes that have been pollinated tend to turn brown and split exposing the seed 🙂

@lowrydr, when pulling out a few, they are firmly anchored not mushy at all, that's why I don't know what this is, as it doesnt look like normal bud rot to me. so I doubt it's bud rot, but not sure...

Pull some out with tweezers. So they pull out like mush or are they firmly anchored? Mush is bit rot.

From my experience I would say it does look like Bud Rock. You need to lower the humidity and get a neutral organic soap spray that you spray on vegetables. It tends to at least contain it or simply cut off four to six inches below but the last place you see it. Just my two cents

It looks like bud rot. If it is don't consume the plant. If your humidity is 70 or above then it likely is.

It can be bud rot. You can pull on the bud leaves next to it. If the bud leaves plug off easily it means the bud is rotten inside. Don’t be afraid to spread the bud gently to look inside if there’s any signs of mold.

I had not once localised single calyx or even small part of bud infected. In first photo i would give 99.99999% its bud rot. If humidity low, good airflow, buds not big it can happen.

It's normal. They're turning brown because the plant is flowering. It can also help you with when to harvest... for example, if the percentage of orange / red or brown pistils goes from 0 to 50% it is too early to harvest, if the percentage of orange/red pistils has reached 90–100%, the THC will have converted to CBN The perfect time is when the percentage of orange/red pistils goes from 70 to 90%

thanks AsNoriu, I don't think its bud rot, I've had that several times, this looks different to me, but maybe I'm wrong...

Your conditions are great or this strain is very resilient, its bud rot i think, you just escape with single calyxies infection.
