My cotyledon ripped like this when i removed the seed case manually (it was stuck), can it repair itself/is it still providing nutrients for the plant? Its not hanging, it feels like its still connected to the plant.

If it turns yellow and dries up then it's dying. Start a new one. If it stays green then continue watering and feeding but don't over water your media is super wet. Just moisten it. Don't drown the baby. If it lives it may have a slow first week or so but give it time to fix itself. When dealing with stuck seeds I use water drop on the seed. It normally will soften it allowing the plant to break free within 2 days. If placing a water drop on the stuck seed 3 or 4 times a day for 2 days don't work.. then I use the finger and nail method. I place my left hand index finger along side of the baby plants stalk. With the right hand index finger I use my nail to pull the seed off. I pull in the direction that my other finger is against. This will prevent the seedling from flopping and breaking or uprooting itself. Its the only way I've found to safely remove the stuck seeds. Goodluck growmie. Please consider selecting me as the answer so I can be entered for a chance to win grower of the month contest I would really appreciate your support 😊 🙏

Whats with people's uncontrollable desire to take the fuckin shell off manually? Leave the fuckin thing alone it'll come off on it's own. If only you did that you'd not have damaged your plant and put it at greater risk of failure, and you would have needed to post this and i wouldn't have needed to post this in response? Get the point?

Seedling looking OK, but the soil is too moist on the pic. Be careful with excess watering to prevent rot issues.

if it stays green-ish, even if you damaged the growth tip, it will eventually regrow. if you lost the growth tip it will take a long time and possibly fail, too. losng 1 cotyledon isn't optimal, but the plant can survive that easily. Again, it'll be a bit slower early on due to less photosynthesis, but within a week or two it'll be inconsequential. doesn't look shriveled, so the vascular tissue must be somewhat still connected. may not even lose the coty. when you remove a shell, use some tweezers to hold it firmly. this reduces any stress on the stem / cotys. Use a toothpick or similar to gently pull/pry while you hold the seed shell steady. somtimes there's a membrane left behind. gently sliding toothpick along where the cotys pull apart can easily slide off a membrane without damaging anything. try to do these things without moving/agitating the seedling. hold it stead, press down on opeing to further pry shell wider until it can pop off. it shouldn't jostly the plant at all if holding it steady with tweezers.
