I have a 70cm2 tent. Not sure if you are cm or inch but if cm then if I was you I would maybe start 2 or 3 plants and aim to flower the best ONE. They will grow too much after flipping the lights for a tent that size. I have just one auto in there. At a push I'd say 1 plant in 5+ gallon pot 2 plants in 3-4 gal 4 plants in 1-2 gal. Think tho that more plants is more work. Period. Best to train one properly imo

They're a technique called "Sea of Green" (SoG), where clones are grown at high density in a large space, with a one-bud training. It's a technique known to give a good yield per m² and reduce the vegetative period to a minimum. The biggest yield indoor. But it means working with clones only to achieve a homogeneous canopy, and therefore maintaining mother plant alongside. A 40×40cm box is a very limited space in where growing only one plant properly would give you a better yield.

Also with your tent being smaller then mine I wouldn't push it to 4 plants. 2 maybe 3 at the most.

I have a 70cm×60cm×150cm tent and I cram 4 in at a time. The problem with fitting to many plants into a small space is you tend to have to sacrifice parts of the plants to prevent overcrowding. The positive side is you can have a few different strains growing instead of one. My overall aim for yield would be the same so if I grew one plant my aim would be eg 200g if I grew 4 my aim would then be 50g per plant. That's under a Viparspectra xs2000 set at about 150w

If you do lot of plants in small pots it still get the same time to grow. You have to choose from autos to feminized seeds. With small pots and lot of plants you can do sog too. When i tryed 9 plants in small pots and small space had good ventilation because if you feed them all in same time humidity will be high and its not good for flowering. And as you asked for variety, fast and good yield search Anesia seeds 💜

I would go with growing one big plant since this is your first time, multiple plants can be a bit much for a new grower.

Being that you are a first-time grower, I would highly recommend sticking to a smaller amount of plants regardless of yield. Yes, you'll be able to get a higher yield with the more plants you grow, but that is given that other factors are in place to. This can include the maintenance of the plants, feeding, genetics, and other factors that could ultimately affect yield. I'd say get a solid run-in with a couple of plants first before attempting to increase the total amount you are growing at a time. That being said, given the dimensions of your tent, I would suggest if you are going for a large plant size, keep it to 1-2 plants. If you are going to be topping them and maintaining a smaller plant structure for their lives, then you can maybe squeeze 4-6 plants in a 40x40. Keep in mind you'll need to accommodate space for pots, humidifiers, lights, and whatever else you may need to throw in the tent. So my advice, stick with one big plant for now, there's always the future where you can try more advanced and intensive runs than your first!
